Loving the team so far. All 4 lines looking great...lots of 2nd line shots so far, pp looking dangerous, Cracknell lookin good on the bottom six.
Devil is in the defense. Liking the core as a whole a lot more than last year, but it's still our achillies heel. I'm a perennial Hamhuis hater (though he was the best Dman in the playoffs), and his -2 last night and wonderful hit on Bartowski is not helping matters.
Also not sure who we'd send down if we picked up another Dman re: Irwin...

Bartowski should have stayed back at the net. Hamhuis was already coming down on the right... needed Bartowski to stay center/left.

Hopefully that will smooth over soon. Hopefully the staff learned from their mistakes last year.
I've noticed Gulutzen seems to have a bigger role with the team. I have great faith he will change this for the team. Seems much more capable of that than Lidster. |
