Alright, you were right. Solid road game.

Good win, I thought they played a solid game against a better opponent and got the 2 points...which is all that matters.

They played smart. Reliable D to keep it close then sneak out with the point/s

I agree, nobody save Miller looked great this game, Hamhuis got a lot of hits, but goddamn does he look slow and unable to keep up anymore. Tanev looks like he's taken the next step though, he's starting to pass Edler as our best all-around #1 D (even though that's still a bit of a miscast for him).

Be nice to see Virtanen on that line with Horvat, Vrbata looks like he's thinking of retirement with how uninterested he looks. His shot is horrible, he had a great setup on the PP and last year buries that 9 times out of 10 and now he muffs it. Great road game, but that's not going to cut it after October if they want to make the playoffs.

I will be honest , I enjoyed the game. They played tight D . There were moments Ducks dominated but they a very good team. Canucks had their chances.

For those that think Sutter was invisible he was the guy in OT when they were short handed cleared the puck out of the zone twice.

I thought he played a very good game defensively to give the twins scoring chances.

This team needs to get rid of Miller, Sutter & Sbisa. Benning sucks.

Remember the early season stumble we had every single season under AV?

The 4rth line was actually effective on some shifts. They get a pass tonight.

This was a good road game. Miller having a solid start again... he was a wall when the momentum kept shifting back to the Ducks.

I would move #91 to 4th line C, put #17 with the twins, #21 between #14 & #36 and reunite the 10 point line.

Hammer looks slower than last year as does Burrows...but both are still effective. Tanev is starting to show true top 4 material and poise. real good today.

Something is amiss with the Baertchi-Horvat-Vrbata line. Can't put my finger on it but you are correct Vrbata does look disinterested at times out there. He did make some nice defensive plays tonight but his shot confidence right now is a bit shaken. Taking real risky shots from goofy angles all over the ice...WTF. Horvat and Baertchi need an energy boost and it ain't coming from Vrbata. Hopefully tomorrow Virtanen is in the lineup...somewhere.

I think it would be a bad move. The Sedins are not kids anymore and it would be taxing on Henrik to play the 200 foot game. Sutter can get back a lot quicker to cover the defensive zone. That eases the burden on the twins to get all the way back and this way can concentrate more on scoring.

A lazy ass Vrbata would not help the line. We have 5 of 6 points , why tinker?

You'd think being in a contract year and expecting a huge payday for being a 30 goal scorer he'd at the very least look like he's playing for a contract. I hope they give Virtanen a chance with Horvat and Baertchi and see what they can do for a game or two and if that line can be effective, then maybe it's time to trade Vrbata. I'm really concerned about that D though, Hutton is definitely sticking the whole year up here but they need to start cutting down Hammer's minutes, he's just not capable of playing 20-25 minutes a night anymore.

The only reason I think Sutter is on the first line is because head office want to glorify him the only way they can after the outburst of "Did we really trade for that guy for that much money?"

Especilly after Benning called him a "Cornerstone player"

Last year the Sedin line gave up a lot of goals. Its a small sample size but so far the team has given up 5 goals in 3 games and scored 9.

so far good balance

The only reason? You clearly have little faith in our management group. I was going to suggest it was because they are auditioning Mcann at 3rd line C.

Lol... I forgot about that.

If we consider a cornerstone player as a guy who has never scored over 40 points with 7 years in the league then we are in trouble.

Just a hunch but I think this year we are going to see Benning knows a lot more than we think. If you look at what he did with the Comets last year and the Canucks regular season , plus the moves he made this year, I think it could be a fun year.

The team this year looks better than it has in 4 years.

Hamhuis has been a cornerstone in the past , he had one goal last year. Tanev another cornerstone had 2
