If Jake Virtanen turns into Dustin Brown, without the stupidity, would you guys be ok with that? Six 20 goal seasons, used to play a heavy power forward game, 443 points in 804 games and played an important part in two Cups.

Just wondering...

Nope, I think JV's skill set it already better than Brown (shot+puck handling). I view Brown as a gritty power type player where JV has skill and power, I would always feel like JV could do more if he panned out as a Dustin Brown level player

What Dustin Browne are you talking about? The one that could actually play hockey or the one that put up an amazing average of 28 points over the last three years.

If its the latter then no thank you.

I was unaware there's two of them? I'm talking about the younger version of the LA Kings forward Dustin Brown. He's actually had a pretty good career but is in obvious decline.

As I said, don't let your hatred blind you, he's scored 20 goals six times in his career, those are good numbers when you consider he's played ten full seasons with LA.

I'm counting his 18 goals in the 46 game 2012/13 half season as 20 BTW.

I would accept anyone including the Easter Bunny if they helped bring 2 cups to Vancouver!

I get what lefty is saying.

Skates very well.
Plays extremely physical.
Puts up respectable but not stellar numbers.

His strength is in his mobility and physical play and could have big numbers with right line mates but will always play balls to the wall for you either way.

I think he's more skilled as well, not to mention he's not as unintelligent as Brown appears to be. Still, Browns put up some decent numbers when it comes to goal scoring, I'd be more than happy with six 20 goal seasons over the next ten years in todays game.

Brown is a cheap shot artist . JV comes at you face to face

Well, I don't think Lefty was talking about personality. JV has a great hockey personality... something this team needs more of.

I'll be happy when Burrows is finally gone regardless of how much he has changed. The refs haven't noticed that's for sure.

Yes 20 goal seasons are good, but I would expect JV's total points to be considerably higher than 400 in 800. Thats where I think he would bring more than Brown and would be disappointed if he couldn't bring to the table what Brown does physically and still produce better offensive numbers

I could live with that. You'd hope for more, but could get less.
