For the most part, he's played well in relief of Lehner. In 2.5 games, he's allowed 7 goals, and 3 of the 4 Tampa scored he was screened on and had no chance. If the team can play full games like they played the final 40 minutes against Columbus and he plays like has the last 2 games, they should be just fine.

I still want to see what Lieuwen can do too.

I know Ullmark had a rough year last year, but that can probably be mostly attributed to the fact that Modo wasn't very good overall and the hip injuries.

As for the Sabres, if they’re going to make a trade, a defenseman is a top need, and in a perfect world, a top-four defenseman is what they covet. Easier said than done, of course, and it doesn’t sound like anything is imminent on that front.

This is sad and scary news for the former star, who is currently a free agent and was expected to play in Spain this season. That's all we know right now, but more news should be coming out on this story soon.

Yes

Say what you will about the defense/goalie play, but how many people thought we'd allow only 8 goals (not counting the empty netter) through the first 3 games, and the lion's share given up by Chad Johnson? Given we've played 2 playoff teams, and a team who hung 6 on us in the tune-up game for the regular season playing a bunch of AHLers.
