He's not playing with McCormick
Playing him on the 4th line for a bit isn't really as bad as people think. Deslauriers isn't exactly a slouch offensively and it's allowing him to still play and adjust to the speed of the game more. That's something he's not going to learn in Rochester. Whether he's there for this year or more. The game is slower there. However, he does need to move up the ranks if they're going to keep him here. He shouldn't be on the 4th line for more than 10-15 games. If he's going to be, it's best to send him down then.
EDIT: And he didn't have 8 minutes. He was just under 10. - HonkFortheGoose
Law guy is right, half this game is confidence. He can't learn to play at this pace until he's got the confidence in himself to do so. Let him play for a little while in Roch and dominate. His development is very Ryan Strome like |

he has to learn more practicing with kane, eichel, ror, girgens, moulson, gionta then dominating the ahl
right?
I think the coach needs to put him in a situation where he gets confidence, and that's not on the 4th line |

Considering they gave him like 10 min in the top 6 my guess the only place for that would be in the minors. |

Please, call Tim Murray your self and tell him this! I would personally love Hiller. Johnson played ok but I don't think it's smart to ride him for three months. What if Johnson gets hurt? Hiller would be cheap and painless, and provide some reassurance. Swap him and Johnson out and send liewen down. After Johnson played decent these past 2 games I don't think Murray will agree with me though. |

I would rather see him play through it. - buffalofan19
Absolutely when you watch Sam amongst his peers he controls the tempo.
The best way for him to adjust to the speed of the game is too play at that speed.
Imo i dont think he's too small, everyone gets knocked over in a game.
He's a smart kid and will adjust sooner than later. Had a rough first period but adjusted nicely in the 2nd and 3rd. |

Ennis has no points all season in more than 15:00 per game with the top six. he is repeatedly knocked down and knocked off the puck.

On a positive note, Reinhart did a good job screening Bob on Risto's goal. - sippyd
he looks decent on some plays and then just looks lost and gets in the way at other times.. |

With that said. This is why i will always hate the Lehner deal. You take a guy like Johnson, who has played decent. Do we expect Lehner to play, (when he does) that much better to justify giving up a first round pick for him? |

johnson has not really played all that great IMO.. he can't control the puck and his rebounds are juicy. i think i would like to see what leuiwen can do over 81 at this point. |

Thats just it, hes not playing lights out, but it seemed/seems to work. I dont count the TB game. TB just trounced Boston too. They are just that good.
I assume Johnson will have around a .905 to .910 sv % after all of this. Lehner has a career .914 save %
Your talking a difference of 5-8 goals over 1,000 shots. A team only gets around 30 shots a game... |

I was impressed that we held Tampa at bay as long as we did during that game. Especially since our D is very average and the goaltender isn't exactly awesome. To come out of that allowing only 4 goals (3 of which the goalie had no chance on) I thought was actually pretty good. |

Agreed. Tampa owned that game from start to finish. They are a fun team to watch. Just think we have a guy that will be on Stamkos level.
You can actually make a lot of comparisons to the rosters. (NOTE I AM NOT SAYING THESE PLAYERS ARE EQUAL) They play the same type of game.
Callahan = O'Reilly
Ennis = Drouin
Boyle = Deslauries
Kane = ???
??? = Kucherov
We can be Tampa in a few years!!!!!
Also, I am actually proud of myself, I guesstimated at that 30 number. This years average. 29.78 team shots per game.
