McDavid is going through an adjustment period of playing against men, not boys. The difference in Eichel's play and McDavid's right now is because of where each of them played last year. - HonkFortheGoose
Exactly. It's early, but it has the feel of Ovechkin/Crosby 2.0...except Eichel is also a center...and hopefully a better leader... |

So Bruins fans are talking about trading Chara. Any takers?
Two more years after this, seems like a perfect timing type deal.... |

His play in camp should at least give him a chance to earn (based on his WHL play) a team Canada look |

They need some stability back there, and I don't think that's provided by Bogosian. Chara is miles better than pretty much anything they have right now, save Ristolainen when he gains experience. It all depends on what they have to give up.
Perhaps it was an impossible task to begin with, but I agree with the Murray detractors about one point. I wish he could have figured out a way to bolster the forward group without depleting the defense corps. |

They love a WHL d-man, i think he's got a legit shot, which is impressive since he wasn't even a consideration during the summer camp. |

Give him days off on back to backs.
Save him for the playoffs.
Helps the pp tremendously.
If he could be had on the cheap al la Savard and Reilly for Hayes type deal. |

Beauchemin, Sekera, Martin
if he could have landed 2/3 this team would be a top 8 team in the east IMO |

It's not uncommon for a college player, or a European pro player to look better than the Junior player out of the gate. It's about the level of competition they face. It's why Ovechkin looked better than Crosby their first two years in the league. I'm excited as anyone about what Eichel has done so far, but let's remember, head to head, McDavid has outperformed Eichel, and it really hasn't been close. Anyone who claims "Canadian bias" is merely employing a coping mechanism. |

I'd give them a little more if they were willing to take a bad contract back. He's got a 7mil cap hit for 2 more years after this |

Something you, I, and a few other said would happen.
Eichel will start the year off the better player as he played against guys that were more physically mature than what McDavid was playing against. As the year goes on that gap will close but it would not surprise me if Eichel wins the Calder. I do feel McDavid will have the better career when all is said and done but it won't be by much. |

Better example of Canadian bias was the contingent of media folk that thought Turris should have gone 1st overall in 07 |

The only "bad" contracts they have on the books right now are Moulson and O'Reilly. I doubt Murray gives them up right now. |
