Hextall may have been part of it but he didn't have final say - ob18
So does he plan to go with a team of entire prospects ? Because that hasn't exactly worked for teams that tried that ie: Edmonton |

I think they're in real trouble. Prior to the season, I expected them to have the usual trouble of sustaining a fast start with a top six that was worn down from too many minutes during the bulk of the season, and the usual spate of nagging injuries. But, they're not off to a fast start, and they havent looked good from what little I've seen so far.
This Penguins team is not a Stanley Cup contender, in my idiot opinion. - Doc_Sarcasm
They aren't Cup contenders, because of their defense. But there's nothing wrong with them offensively, and they are gonna break out
They should have pumped five or six past Mike.Smith in that first game. Borderline miracle they didn't get any |

and no sooner than I say they're in trouble than the Penguins start to dominate. Nice shot by Bennett.

There is so much doom and gloom around Vinny. So many reasons to keep him from playing but he's one player. You argue the point but it's hard for me to say Riley Cote was good at anything and not only did he play, he was dressed often. - SuperSchennBros
Different role so hard to make that argument. Vinny was signed here to be a top 9 player.....top 6 really. I want nothing more than to see him be that player but from what he has showed last year through the preseason, he looks done. He had a fresh start and did nothing in the preseason (against not all NHL rosters I may add) to warrant the first call when someone went down. Gagner may not have been great in the preseason but he did put up 4 points. Vinny just looked so done.
I like Schenn more that most on here (still hate the trade tho) and thought he had played fine the first two games but after losing 7-1 you had to figure changes in the lineup would happen so I was not surprised Gudas was in for Schenn. and with Umberger hurt Gagner would have been my choice to be inserted over Vinny as well. I really don't want to see Vinny on the 4th line over White, PEB or VV. I'd slide RJ to the 4th line once healthy in place of VV and keep Gagner in. Unless Gagner would have to be terrible for Vinny to go in for me |

If they stay healthy, they're in the conversation.
I do not think they will stay healthy. |

They're fine. Don't know that they win tonight because Montreal is really good and they are still working on stuff, but they are fine |

looking ahead, the dreaded 7 day break early in the year is upon us, after tomorrow nite they don't play until tuesday the 20th. why does this occur every year, can't the league schedule 1 game in that span in order to break up the back to backs and 3 out of 4 that will occur in the 2nd half of the year. good grief |

I miss the abbreviated season. I'd take a shorter season to consistently get 3 games a week. |

No, it really isn't a different role because he's played on every line since being here. Within everyone line has had both good and bad moments. Common guys, I'm really unaware what the real expectation you guys have for this season. |
