I think some things have improved such as horvats continued progress but as Ive always said the canucks will be much better team overall in every department if the D improves and gets solid. I think we are seeing a exactly that.
Getting rid of the attitudes has helped of course too. |

Now it's time for Vrbata and Hamhuis to depart, I won't cry if they manage to get Higgins a new team as well... heck, I'll even drive him to the airport, toss his luggage onto the plane, lock the doors to the terminal and watch him fly away into the sunset. |

Vrby and Higgens are arguably expendable now (although Willie would have an aneurysm).
Hamhuis needs to stay until at least the TDL and i would not be surprised or disappointed if he get's resigned, as long as the other 2 are traded for some picks/prospects. |

Sbisa was good last night
Although Hutton certainly helps by handling some of Sbisa's wrist-flick passes in his feet. |

That's surprising. I thought I was seeing his name in the scoresheet fairly frequently.
Not that I'll lose any sleep over it. Actually, I think I'll hit the snooze button and take another ten minutes. |

I thought he had a pretty good camp, and he had a great year @ kalamazoo last year. Too bad. That depth in Utica tho |

Just a tad too soon for that. TDL and placement in the standings will determine much but we need Vrbata and hammer in the lineup for now. JB can make room for Lucic in the summer if he needs to. Higgins can go anytime. But we really need to be looking to get some return for Burrows. Hopefully he flirts with 15-20 goals so his value is higher but I think those days are past. Hansen and Edler are another matter altogether. Hansen is workable enough over all the lines but as is with Burrows...we need to look at getting some return on Edler as well and there are Eastern teams still very interested in Edler. |

I doubt we can sustain this pace, but it's encouraging to see that our D is much better and mobile and can carry the puck out of the zone with speed and give our forwards a chance to hit the O-zone with speed and with the puck. The entire team looks like a cohesive unit now and Horvat is getting better each game. Vrbata continues to look like he wants out of Vancouver and Edler actually looked like a #1 D for a change (even if it's only this game) - DariusKnight
I have faith that we might only see a slight drop off over the course of the season. Miller cannot sustain this level of play all year, but the team has had some very sloppy moments and if he can hold it together for the first 10-15 games until the wrinkles can be ironed out, this team might finish around the same as last season |

* bat signal sent to Marwood
Yes because season started on a Wednesday, so it's a long week instead of a short one. |

I would expect a top 10 goalie for Pavelski.
Nucker just offered me Crawford for Backes, Steen, Weber and Bernier LOL |

Oh Lord, no.
What I am impressed with so far is the work effort every night, every shift. Guys like Burrows and Hansen may not have the skill set so much anymore, but they work their patooties off, really setting a good example for the rookies on the team of what it takes to play at this level. They're not going to win every game obviously but if they put that kind energy into every game, then I'm happy to watch. |
