I'm sure Sbizza will go with some kind of pizza delivery song...30min or free but the opposing team can have it in 5 seconds... |

The thing I noticed about Lucic last night is he is very slow. I think he was on his best behaviour last night in case JB still has thoughts. I know I was ringing the bell the longest on Bring in ML but seriously I would only do it if it was a three year deal 4 mil per max. I think any team spending north of 5 mil are going to regret it.
He still has some value but it wont last 4 years. If he took a hometown discount fine otherwise walk away. The game is getting too fast for him - VANTEL
Lucic was slow. I wonder how much the bad ice had to do with it.
And LA should start being fined if they cannot improve their ice. Terrible. It was like 8-rinks at 8am after 4 hours of "power skating" classes took place right before.

Are we allowed to play Eric Clapton's 'Cocaine' when the opposing team gets a penalty? |

Current #1 worry: Chris Higgins.
Where does he fit in?
He is not a goal scorer.
He is slower than most of his linemates and certainly slower than the rookies.
He is not a checker. |

Won't Stamkos be RFA if he doesn't get signed? Guy is good, but is he worth several 1st round picks? |

Man.... could you not just see it.... Music blares the riff, the vocals cut off just after Clapton sings "She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie" and the crowd yelling Cocaine.
I would pay money for that. |

if JB could recoup a 2nd rounder for Higgins, I'd hope he'll be pulling the trigger |

I was always kinda on vantel's wavelength with Lucic, but I don't think JB will go there.
Like a lot of us saw last night, he looks slow.
By next year, certainly the year after Virtanen = Lucic plus, he's way cheaper, also a local guy, and not an a-hole.
The canucks have jettisoned all their a-holes, and they look like more of a tight knit team unit as a result.
No reason to add a slow, a-hole, with an attitude problem at any price. |

regardless of his status at years end, the canucks don't have, nor would/could they clear the cap space to pay stammer the 9-11MM he'll get a year. |

Could we get a third for Higgins?
What does he bring to the table other than a third line body. I think he is the last of the true Gillis dreams that went thud.
He is Jim Sandlak, Taylor Pyatt and Stere Bernier all rolled into one.
(2 points for a Jim Sandlak reference!)

He is a key piece to one of the best PK units the league has every year. Teams want that. He would instantly slot into 1st PK unit on almost every team we could trade him to. That with providing good 3rd line scoring and general shut down makes him valued. We may have to eat some salary, but not like he has a lot of time left on his contract. |
