Powerenforcer: "Give the Flyers credit for playing the perfect "Gary Bettman Parity league" game."
Kingcong39: "That kind of play is brutal to watch. I understand it wins, but that is the problem with the league. Time to start calling every single penalty again so this style is hopefully relegated to the background. "
Those are, at best, back-handed compliments. - jmatchett383
What is the 2nd poster alluding to? Trying to say we're clutching and grabbing? And were there not enough penalties last night to satisfy him? Seemed like most of the game was played on a man advantage for one side or the other. |

That w as last year. Florida is a good competitive team this year in my opinion. - MJL
If Jagr plays well all season and Luongo stays healthy I think they could make the playoffs. Barkov and Bjugstad are poised for breakout seasons.
Jonathan Huberdeau Aleksander Barkov Jaromir Jagr
Brandon Pirri Nick Bjugstad Reilly Smith
Jussi Jokinen Dave Bolland Vincent Trocheck
Connor Brickley Derek MacKenzie Quinton Howden

Good for you disagreeable. They've played three games against the Flyers and Carolina. They're 2-1. - mayorofangrytown

He's looked okay for the limited action I've seen. He was forced to go to that awful Chicago defense, our stacked defense didn't have room for him. - jmatchett383

We were all young men at one point in our lives on the prowl, and involved in the single life. Why would we expect any young pro athlete to be different? They certainly need to use good judgment because they are at risk of people trying to take advantage of that. I don't expect a young pro athlete not to have a social life. I'm not going to judge Kane until I know the verdict. I think he has every right to play until he is charged or arrested. - MJL
True, but his privileged lifestyle allows him to take things to another level, and gives him a false sense of untouchability.
Anyway, the proven stuff he's done is enough to color my opinion of his character as a person. |

My doctor (who is from Chicago)told me an interesting Kane story yesterday.
Kane apparently shares a floor of some posh high rise in downtown Chicago with Derrick Rose of the Bulls. They don't live together, they just split the entire floor between them. Apparently Oprah owns the entire floor above them.
Anyway, Rose is this quiet guy who causes no problems, and Kane is constantly partying and has piles of beer cans outside his door for maintenance to pick up on a regular basis.
I just found it interesting. Whether or not the veracity of the story checks out is another matter, but he has no reason to lie to me.

They're basically saying the same thing I said - collapse into a defensive posture in the third period and hope for the best. |

I said poor. I put them in the same position as Boston, Philadelphia, Columbus and the like. Bubble teams at best. They have to prove to everyone they're a good team. Haven't done anything like that yet.
Carolina is bad. |

For the record, I was born when I was 26, and I don't think that bodiva or flyersgrace were ever young men. |

i already hated them, but from that moment on, it skyrocketed to an immeasurable endless well of hate that never dry up.
msg could implode with 20,000 rangers fans inside and i wouldn't care.

Ferris Bueller reference, poking fun at your third-hand story.
Economics Teacher: Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
Simone: Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
Economics Teacher: Thank you, Simone.
Simone: No problem whatsoever. |
