It will probably be talked about for 10 years whereas the Rangers fans chanting buy a porche is long forgotten outside of Philadelphia. so sick of boo hoo philly fans are so mean crap. (frank) em - nastyflyergirl
I was to young to remember that....but that is terrible
Trouba...but it would take a poor King's random...maybe a Duke's ransom. - jmatchett383
Sure they'd be interested in Trouba, but how realistic is it that they trade him? We all can see the obvious names, but what makes sense? I don't see a fit between the Flyers and Winnipeg.

I was watching on TV. I remember telling one of my buds who was watching with me that it was a really good thing that I wasn't at MSG. If I had been, I would have either been dead or in jail for murder. Ranger fans are, without any doubt whatsoever, the most classless fans of all sports. They make me sick. As Hammar so eloquently put it earlier, if MSG burned to the ground with 20,000 ranger fans inside, I wouldn't shed a single tear. I hate every single fan and facet of that organization.

The only 2 realistic names are Enstrom and Myers. Myers would be preferable (younger, RHD), but Enstrom is probably the cheaper of the two. If the Jets' top-8 defenseman, they have a 50/50 split in RHD, so they may be one team where it's easier to get one. Not sure what Myers would cost though, probably a package centered around one of Simmonds/B Schenn/MDZ and either a 1st or a top prospect (Konecny).
Lots of teams would love to have Trouba, but unless you massively overpay, I don't see the Jets moving him. - BiggE
I agree. The thing is, I think he's approaching elite. He's young (21), shoots RH, has size and uses it, can play in all situations. I know it would be a massive overpayment, but there's your NHL-ready blueline cornerstone.

If we did acquire Myers, I would love to see the pairing of Myers and Morin, assuming Morin was not part of the deal.

My guess is that the Jets would ask for something like: Sanheim or Provorov, Konecny, Simmonds and our 2016 1st. That's a little too steep for me.

I'm not sure what Ek is smoking, but honestly a deal with Winnipeg makes little sense for either team, unless it's for spare parts. They're a potential playoff team, and notwithstanding our recent success, we're a bubble team with an eye for the future. They would want assets to help get them over the hump today, but I doubt that at this point in the season, Hextall is trading any core roster players for prospects or picks.
All the players being discussed are most likely part of their long-term future, with the exception of Buff and I just don't see how that makes sense for Philly.
They were probably just advance scouting the Hawks.

What's the most you would be willing to give up for him?

I mentioned him earlier in the blog. Sanheim simmonds a 2nd rounder and a 3rd rounder

I'd be willing to the deal that I figured the Jets would want, provided the 2016 pick was top 3 protected. I think Trouba is worth a lot, but I'm not going to risk the slim chance of losing a shot at Matthews in the deal.
Dallas really gave Tampa a thumping. I hope they're tired from their road trip by Tuesday night. - Feanor
I didn't see much, but I did see McKenzie go down. It wasn't really all that bad of a hit, the defender just turned around and hit the guy awkwardly. Looks like McKenzie may have broken his leg though, he was just writhing in pain and didn't put any weight on it.

I'd do it for Sanheim, not Provorov. Because flavor of the month.

Prospects are unknowns. Most of ours won't turn into what we hope they will. Sanheim is someone with a very high ceiling but will take quite some time to have an NHL impact for a franchise that is close but already has a log jam he'd be a guy that would allow them to reshuffle some the cards in a few years. Trouba would be our leader and top guy. He'd grow with the rest the prospects but would ramp up our defensive rebuild. I'd say he's worth every penny if we can get out of giving a first rounder
