Yeah Boyle has showed me nothing that says his play will get better. I'm holding onto the fact of Girardis slow starts from previous seasons. - mdw7413
I think Girardi will be alright but I think he needs to have his ice time reduced some. I think Klein can handle more ice time as well as Yandle.

Yup, and I sure wish there was a way to get rid of you know who and platoon McIlrath & Diaz.
Look at that sentence; how horrible does that look right now? Essentially, it was more about Staal than Stralman. If they retained Stralman they would have been forced to move Staal or lose him last summer. - MidnightMarauder
I think they wanted Boyle for about 5 years and finally got him.

The 3-0 start was mostly a mirage, very little sustained offense and chemistry among the top lines. This is what happens when you run into a good team that doesn't hand you grade A chances. So glad AV realized the issue with Hayes at wing. Is Av also seeing the decline of Girardi? or did he drop down McDonagh instead? I couldn't tell but McDonagh-Boyle and McDonagh-Klein seemed to play ok.
The new lines from the 3rd should've been what started the season, why are we forcing Hayes to play wing. He sucked there in the preseason and the first 4 games to start, I hope that experiment is over. Thought that Miller might get bumped to Stepan's line but Nash works too.
Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Miller-Brass-Zucc
Lindberg-Hayes-Stalberg
Etem-Moore-Fast and a few games for Stoll
It's only been 4 games but our D across the board has been bad, it's been all Hank to keep things close and get those wins. - MatzCT

That would be what's best for the team right now. Allegiances to players have to be cut in order to do what's right for the club. It might seem small but having one or two completely useless players, on the big roster, really has a terrible trickle down effect on the bigger picture.
Those 2 guys couldn't be more alike. I think Kreider probably a little stronger, but both power forwards, both can throw huge hits, both have the ability to score nice goals, yet both disappear and play like they could care less. Its so goddamn frustrating. - mdw7413
I'm still trying to figure out how Okposo got this label from some people? He had three games against the Penguins in the playoffs where he played like a power forward. Other than that he has done nothing to deserve that title. Kreider is a power forward, Okposo is not.

and, it's been pretty much like this

Nothing like cutting bait with your second best defensemen, during your 2014 finals run, to ensure they acquire a 38 year old whose former team couldn't wait to rid themselves of.
He's been just fine. Not killing it but not bad either. - Cptmjl
Same as Nash. He is getting his chances out there and hasn't killed the team with his play. The difference is his overall game is predicated on goals and points while Johnny Rocket's game is predicated on blocked shots and shots on goal.

Here's a thought. Not conventional, but maybe put Raanta in for a few games. Rangers D always seems to get their poop together when the backup is in. I think they are more lackadaisical with Hank in goal.

Rangers play 11 games this short month. They need to get Raanta in there for more than just the odd game. Hank looks fine out there but the team is hanging him out to dry and that is the same old stuff they always do when he is net.

When you're counted on to score and you don't you're killing the team
Nash has a doughnut, in the points and goals column, but he is not playing poorly.
He needs to produce though because I doubt Isles fans would be ok with Tavares playing hard without any offensive output as a result. - MidnightMarauder
You got that right. He's got to score bcs that's what you're paying him to do. He'll get going unfortunately. Every season it takes some players some time to get going. First ten or fifteen games are a crap shoot as far as consistency goes for most players. If they're still in a funk after that then grab your pitch forks and torches.

Absolutely but he's been primarily on a line with a center that looks absolutely lost at the start.
He also received minimal power play time or none at all. The team is not getting it done offensively aside from Lindberg and Zuccarello, stats-wise, anyway.
It's a minor blip on the radar and it's early yet. The Ranger started off horrendously the last two seasons and they wound up doing alright in both. I am willing to give it time but wary of the fact that if they continue to struggle, and nothing is being done about it, then we can all get in the panic huddle and justifiably so.

I always give it until around Thanksgiving. If things don't look good by that point it would definitely be cause for concern.
