Why put all your investment in a limited resource. Sure it brings in money short term & help the economy (although it really hasn't that much recently) but it carries a heavy social cost on society. All the pollution it causes and health problems is going to end up costing a lot of money too to fix in the future.

Canada has so much land, its got a great technology sector, tons of educated people. They should invest in renewable energy sources.
