Scary to think that he'll actually get stronger and faster.... he'll be a solid player for years to come.

Just realized we have no third or fifth round pick this draft so far, again hoping to be sellers at TDL in or out of playoffs

I'm not seeing the same Sbisa as last year. He's looking better than Edler right now and has formed something that loosely resembles chemistry with Hutton. The D in a whole is so much better without Bieksa hemming everyone in their own end when paired with him. Sbisa is still going to make bone headed plays but his speed and physical play are starting to overshadow the blunders.

McCann is not timid of attempting big league plays with his creativity. He can wow you with a goal or a pass. Those 9 games are going to come way too quick. If he gets sent down, there will be a riot.

Sutter just doesnt look pretty when he's playing effective hockey. I will have to get used to that. He's coming as advertised though... and is going to be a very versatile player for the coach.

Vrbada seems really frustrated. He's been served up so many golden set ups and blew up the shot or missed... it seems like he just carelessly slapping it at the net now... he needs to get over his hissy fit and score us a first rou...er I mean some goals.

Been mulling this, and I'm not really sure what a good answer is. Its been kinda universally agreed on the Canucks board to trade Chris Higgins. Would be nice to get a second round pick, but with a lot of teams tight on the cap; we would probably have to take a player back.

So the question is, what player/players would be an equal (or close enough) when trading Higgins?

Just curious to what the folks round here think.

No team is trading a third let alone second for Higgins. Any GM that does should be fired

Your the GM who do you want higgins for 2.5 and give up a third or Mike Richards or
Stephen Weisse for 1 million and no draft picks.

Look at what StL did today picked up Scott Gomez cheap no picks given up.

Canuck fans are dreaming if they think we are trading Higgins for picks

That was back in the days of Woodstock. Teams won't do that for a 32 yr old 10 goal scorer anymore.

I personally never thought we'd get picks for Higgins. (Better chance at tdl with better pieces) If I was gonna compare Higgins to another player, the first person that pops in my head is Cliff Ronning. Smaller player, with heart, that with a change of scenery might be a good spark for a team......(kinda like he was when we first got him). I'm just not familiar with todays NHL to compare him to another player.

There's a few people on here that seem to know their stuff (like yourself), and wanted to see who they thought would be fair/tolerable coming back.

Chris Higgins the player that disappears in the playoffs? Ronning was clutch , higgins is crotch.

Check higgins stats in the last 3 years

I would disagree, correct me if I'm wrong......we traded at the deadline in 2011 for Higgins. (Then with the ducks for Max) They both were helpful in our run. Higgins hasn't been too great in the last few years though. (100% agree on that)

The game and drafting has changed in the last 3 years.

Higgins was 27 when we traded for him. He is 32 now.

They tried to move him this summer. No one wanted him. Don't disappoint yourself.

No dissapointment.....Just curious if people thought he had any value. But I think if we waived him, he would get picked up.......but thats just me. I'm getting the impression that you believe that he holds zero or even a negative value.
