No dissapointment.....Just curious if people thought he had any value. But I think if we waived him, he would get picked up.......but thats just me. I'm getting the impression that you believe that he holds zero or even a negative value. - WelfareWerewolf
I think he could help a team if they pick him up on waivers. He has 0 trade value. |

Wasn't it traded for Pedan? - phyllee
Got it back in the Sutter trade. We get what ever 3rd is better ours or NYI |

No worries....Looks like everybody agrees with you. (I woulda thought the arm chair GH's out there would have had some kinda awesome idea (or a package idea) to actually get some value out of him. Seems a real shame to just let another player walk or be waived.
I guess it would make for a good convo if he does get waived and everybody comes out of the wood work to call Benning a big dummy.

This was a different year. Too many comparable UFAs still out there looking for jobs to waste draft picks. He could be packaged but I don't think stand alone |

No team is trading a third let alone second for Higgins. Any GM that does should be fired - VANTEL
Good thing he already on our team |

Things that have impressed me so far.
15 goals in 5 games. Scoring 3 goals a game you should win most nights.
The Kids. Fast , exciting , productive. No longer boring hockey. We still need to cut all the way down.
Sutter as advertised.
Sbisa and Hutton, in a weird way taking steps to being the top pairing.
Twins rejuvenated .
Concerns
Edler Tanev may have cost us the game last night. I noticed Edler has the same boring , stick exploding problems on the offence as the last three years. Leave him in a defensive position only.
Coaching. I am not happy at all with WD
Vrbata and Higgins need to be moved the sooner the better.

You won't be allowed to touch the Presidents Trohpy when they win it this season after your insensitive comment to Pker yesterday that hurt a lot of us. |

I just caught the extended hilites and yeah wow...Edler and Tanev with a rough outing. Horvat and Miller had tough games too. Miller looked floppy and out of position at times.
I'm not down on WD just yet...doing what he can with what he has.
Vrbata looks off. Must be confidence or something mentally. He bobs up/down on the PP in the left side circle for the one-timer and creates nothing really. I'm sure once one goes in a few more will follow but man...concerns.
If we get a third for Higgins we'd better take it and run for the hills.
What is the word on Markstrom?

He did , he was also bad on the PP the game before. I think they just need to let him play D and not put expectations on him.
We are better off with Hutton and a forward playing the point on the PP. there will be some shorties though until Hutton learns |

Edler to Philly or Carolina...they've always had interest there has to be a trade in there somewhere to fill one of our needs.
Hutton looks so poised with his puck handling abilities. Agree put him on the PP and let him run with it we can deal with the defensive issues for now.
After last night I bet Weber slots back in soon. |

NTC.
I think edler and Tanev are a very good second pairing, just don't expect much offensively. Then I think Edler will shine and he is 27. Time to find a first pairing.
I still want Hamhuis gone before thinking of trading Edler. |

I wouldn't be surprised to see Bartkowski sit for a few games so they can have a look at Weber. Not a choice I would make but I'm expecting it. |

I doubt they move Edler. If anyone goes it will be Hamhuis. Dealing Edler would basically force you to sign Hamhuis for a couple more years at least. There's no defensive prospects that are close to coming up. |

I doubt they move him too but there is value there and teams that want him. depending where we are after the first few months it won't hurt for JB to test the market on a few players... |

Yeah he is the only option, but Benning brought him in because he likes him and will want to extend him. Not a good way to impress an upcoming UFA that you want extended. That is why we have to live with Edler or we need to put a forward there.
One goal on the PP all year is unacceptable but then again the Ducks have only one goal all year |

Yeah Edler is going nowhere .
That is where cap money next year is important to find the Dman to run the PP |

I don't like his lineups.
I don't like his unwillingness to try new things
Example . Clearly the PP is struggling yet he still sends Vrbata Edler out there who are doing nothing.
I don't like how he breaks up successful lines and puts players like Prust Dorsett Higgins into the top 6 |

Im not his biggest fan either. I was impressed with his decision to try sutter w sedins and have sutter take the R handed FOs though.
I dont believe WD runs the PP. Otherwise I agree.
Id say my view is that hes stuck in his ways....he seems to be a junior coach being asked to coach an nhl game. Its a different game here and he isnt quite crafty enough in what hes shown thus far. |
