I just flicked over to the ball game to see what's happening, Jays are losing again....I thought they were winning. KC just too good?

No, we have to jump to conclusions before allowing enough time to pass. The team is 3 1 1 not 5 0 0. This is not good enough, I demand perfection or change, there is no gray, only black or white.

Why hasn't Daniel been scoring at a 60 goal pace, trade him.
Sutter is supposed to be good on the draw, yet his facoff percentage isn't 100, trade him.
Miller is supposed to be a great goalie yet he had allowed at least one goal in 4 out of 5 games, waive his ass!
Horvat is an Uber prospect, his game last night wasn't as good as his previous game, trade him for a 2nd rounder.
Virtanen was 6th overall but Mccann had played more games then him, can you spell B U S T!
Mccann isn't playing tomorrow, obviously he's garbage, send him back to junior.
Vantel likes Sutter, but Sutter might not like him and he's on the first line, ban him.
Marwood likes jazz cigars but not as much as I do. ...ban the hippy!
Trevor linden isn't as good of a hockey player since he retired, whys he president then, fire him.
I've never played in the nhl so I've never flubbed up, give me a contract, then buy me out!
Nucker might be wrong, what if he's right, ban everyone but nucker!

Ok time to cut myself off before I say something stupid, like the sky isn't falling to late, flag me quick before it happens again! !
It's only 5 games in, wait for the 20 game mark. ... oh nooooss I did it again. .ahhhhhhhhhhhh

I don't know why people think Vrbada's value in a trade has gone *down* because of a slow start 5 games into a season... that's absurd...

His value isnt rising and at this pace eventually he will degrade but it's far too early to call it.... any scout would surely see he is getting glorious chances even playing with questionable line mates at times. He's had fairly consistent production through his career. Vrbada isnt one dimensional and a team would surely think he is going to find better chemistry with their guys based on how much they need scoring... GM's are like that as we all know...

I think a playoff team would part with a 1st if he starts scoring again... which is pretty likely based on the player and the chances he's missed on this season...

Will JB part with him without an idea of the playoff probability... or if they are probable would he? Thats the tough question. I'm leaning to yes because of the moves being made to get younger... playoffs are gravy. Vrbada is no Mathias... you shouldnt let him walk... this is why I supported bringing in top UFA's...

I think a playoff team would give a very good defensive prospect up for a package of Edler and Vrbada. Hows that for a mouth watering package?

According to Brophy at Hockeynews, the Canadiens need to surround Price with some support. too bad they don't have much in the way of high end prospects...

Yes but you still need your vets to step up. Price is a veteran pitcher step up and get the job done. Just like KC did a few innings before when the Jays could have blown that game wide open.

His fancy stats are actually not bad playing with the Sedins, but I agree, I would way rather have a bonafide goal scorer like Sutter on the first line
- 1970vintage

I like that top line a lot, especially with them splitting faceoffs depending on what side it is.

Vrbata's funk added to Baertchi's ineffectiveness can be both a good n a bad situation.

The good is that opportunity for Gaunce n Grenier quite soon possiby after McCann n Virtanen r done their auditions n Higgins returns.
The bad is our depth is showing thru as a little thin n the D needs more consistency from a few of the vets.

Now to spitball a bit i'd say prolly 1 out of McCann or JV will stick with the big club.
Maybe even both if an early season deal is made.
By stretching out JV's audition it might buy JB the time to swing a trade.
Pure speculation but if I'm onto to anything then Vrbata is my choice to move for no reason other than his game is solid n a team wanting scoring gets a known quantity.
Question is who? Possibles r LA, Pittsburgh, NYI.
Only list those for starters at this early juncture to start off with.
LA cuz a shake up is needed IMO
Pitt cuz a veteran scorer helps them immediately.
NYI is on a Cup push n has moveable good parts eg Okposo
Like I said spitballing n maybe some wishful thinking. 😂😂👍

Scherbak, McCarron, Juulsen, Fucale, Tinordi ?

I think Tinordi might be too slow for the NHL game

Two canucks games ago the announcers were saying pitsburgh was talking about changes. Wouldn't mind cutting lose with Vrbata now and having a Sven-Horvat-Virtanen second line

Remember the controversy that happened when credible rumors came out that Gillis was offering Bieksa straight up for Tinordi after the Canucks just missed him in the draft. Bieksa got hurt and all that speculation was for not. After that TDL, Bieksa gave it to the fans in an interview with a comment like... "I'm still here".... right when he was playing some terribad hockey too...

Still, that would have been a terrible trade if true while Bieksa was still in his prime.

I agree but its a plunge that JB will find hard to take.
WD might not like it but it would signal a real changing of the guard.
It might take Sven showing real chemistry n results PDQ.

I switched over just as the Jays blew a 3 run lead. So glad that I'm not emotionally invested in the Jays; I would imagine cheering for any Toronto based team would be incredibly painful

Hes going to have to do something, Linden came out and said they had Virtanen penciled to be in the lineup for awhile, and the way Mcanns playing, gunna need to get rid of a forward, as much as I want it to be Higgins/Prust it wont happen, Vrbata should get value from pits

What does PIT have that they can afford to trade? They've gut the prospect pool of the team over the last couple of years. There are some dark days afford for that franchise in the future. Mind you, nothing that a Malkin or Crosby trade couldn't fix

I don't remember but I agree. He seems slow not only when he's skating but also in his decision making. McCarron had a hatty tonight.

I think the only way this happens without media and fan outrage is if Vrbada wants out right now. Otherwise, who trades away their best scorer 5 games in while trying to sell the idea they want to make the playoffs and come out with better results in the post season as well... I do get the sense that Vrbada is unhappy with his situation. I think he sees a shift in philosophy with the team. No longer is it him and the Sedins trying to win a cup... but shifting towards fast tracking kids.

If Vrbada wants playoff hopes he can gamble that this team will make it again... and not be the same fails once they get here... or just pick a list of obvious teams and go there soon.. then there's his next contract he needs to think about... needs goals to get paid... he may see greener pastures in a number of cities... it makes sense for him to welcome it... it's a tough spot for the GM though. It's not tanking but people will rage over it.

Yeah Prust is going nowhere and for Higgins to have ANY value whatsoever he will have to come off injury and light it up.
