Lol
I can see Sven getting shopped subtly.
Idk if JB has enough patience regarding him.
He's on a show me contract n easy to move.
Also a possible TDL move but small sample size not in Canucks favour.
Much hinges on JV/McCann n if JB n WD r fine running with either or both.
So far though still early i can live with running with the kids.
Up front we r fine on veteran depth but D I'm not sold on yet.
I see Hamhuis moved TDL or sooner for the right deal if the other 6 D can find consistency over a long period.
JB seems fine wheelin n dealin n not done yet. |

I sure wish the media would shut the (frank) up about McDavid - sick of it. I'm sure one day he will be a great two-way player but you can try and convince me all you want...right now he just isn't standing out to me. Especially on the talent laden line ups on both teams tonight. |

Hat Trick For Boeser tonight for his first points of the season.

More talents to look forward to. Imagine if we have more than one first rounder in this upcoming draft.
For a decade under Nonis and Gillis, I developed anxiety leading up to the draft.

Everytime I start to feel sorry for the kid that sport check commercial comes on, the one with the fake sports pundits talking breathlessly in the background: "can he really turn a franchise around overnight, single handedly?" McDavid can't do anything about the way the media is dealing with him anymore than a lingerie model can control what happens with her image once the Sears catalog has been published, but he cashed the check on that commercial before training camp had even started. |

I was talking to someone who said after speaking to Linden, that in the past some guys in the scouting dept had too big of a voice. One of those guys was Delorme. Apparently the Nux have since started listening to their scouts on the ground more, such as those who were in the east. As well apparently Delorme was supposed to be scouting B.C. But didn't do a very thorough job of it... |

Really luv how Boeser is looking n that release n shot r both world class.
Future looking brighter than ever before.
We r 1 stud D man away from something special.
BHutt is makin a great case but i see JB really wanting to get more outta our D corp or keep dealin to get it done. Guys like Weber n Hamhuis r tradeable.
Edler needs to play more consistently n I'd like more offence from him but I'd settle for him to be a REAL shutdown D man. |

Like I've said, silly part of the season, teams that were supposed to suck surprise, teams that were supposed to be average are slightly better or slightly worse and teams that were supposed to do well tend to start slow. After mid-November all the teams should end up where they're supposed to/going to be for the season. It's usually the 20 game mark where teams have all figured out their best lineups/systems play/players find chemistry with others. |

I just flicked the tv there and they said all four first overall picks scored tonight....won't see that happen with another team I'd guess |

I think the only way this happens without media and fan outrage is if Vrbada wants out right now. Otherwise, who trades away their best scorer 5 games in while trying to sell the idea they want to make the playoffs and come out with better results in the post season as well... I do get the sense that Vrbada is unhappy with his situation. I think he sees a shift in philosophy with the team. No longer is it him and the Sedins trying to win a cup... but shifting towards fast tracking kids.
If Vrbada wants playoff hopes he can gamble that this team will make it again... and not be the same fails once they get here... or just pick a list of obvious teams and go there soon.. then there's his next contract he needs to think about... needs goals to get paid... he may see greener pastures in a number of cities... it makes sense for him to welcome it... it's a tough spot for the GM though. It's not tanking but people will rage over it. - boonerbuck
Who trades their top scorer 5 games in? Me , but I always have been a crazy old bastard |
