On whether we go to the playoffs, of course. Been hearing that a lot lately for some reason.

But for this particular team, it's certainly worth noting that the product on the ice is getting better. We can see it in the (unfortunately) advanced stats. All this is telling us is, the wins will be coming. Maybe not a ton of them this year, but with these players in place for the most part, we've got a base to build on. Not that I don't care that they lose. I want them to win as much as any of us do. But this is year 1 of building up. 5 games in. And there's no reason to believe they'll regress to the past 2 years.

i just wish we could see some consistency in lines.. i think that would help. Kane/eich are killer but Kane needs to pot one. But on the whole they are playing a 100% better than last season.

They've had issues overall with consistency throughout entire games. The last Tampa game is probably the only "complete" game they've played all season. It stinks that there's such a long layoff before they play the next game though. Would have been nice to take what they did, even though they lost, and build on it without having to wait 4 days.

you would expect that with a young and half new team.. i don't think we can really make snap judgements on the team until about 20 games in

Yeah. Definitely. There's already been improvement. Instead of it being whole periods where they look disorganized it's much shorter lapses.

They really need to get the PK figured out though. That's currently their biggest flaw.

I got halfway through game 2 and I was like, "why don't we stop worrying about this whole playoffs thing?". The thing is, getting into the playoffs has become a measuring stick for a successful season in the NHL. But it's really bull because just over 50% of the teams get in and no one remembers or gives a dam about teams that lose in the first round. The real measuring stick is can you win a playoff series. That's not even a concern of most of us at this point.

Probably but not absolutely. There are variables. What it means is will be competitive. Johnson, and the lack of finish could prevent the wins from coming.

I'm just happy the we are in games against decent teams
