It is surprising that the D is playing like an average unit. I knew the offense would sputter, fits and starts...and we have that. But the D, I expected much, much better.
Disappointing. - IonSabres
Different year, same story with the Bills. The whole front office is inept on how to build a winning team. |

is it so much how it was built?...I think today and new England can be chalked up to poor coaching |

It is how it was built, still no O line or real NFL QB. I can't wait to see the other safety or corner the Bills draft first next year in the first round that they don't need. |

Ronald darby has been pretty solid for a 2nd-rounder...chan gailey did more with less on the offensive line with ryan Fitzpatrick as qb...
imo, bills fans hated fitz to the point where the front office was pretty much forced to draft a qb that year...I believe that was the draft that Jeremy white suggested the bills draft a qb in every round |

I'd rather go down with EJ than Fitz. The Jets have faced some pretty weak teams so far. They will come down to earth very soon. |

I said the bills D was over-rated and lacked quality depth, got laughed at
they have given up 98 points in their last 3 home games, while scoring 63 points |

he was ok...would rather have stuck with him for a year or two instead of forcing a pick at qb...but, we're in the minority...
and we don't have a radio show either |

My problem is Fitz is/was/will never lead you past 9-7. That said neither will Tyrod/EJ/insert player here.
They have GOT to find a way to finally get their QB of the future or its gonna continue to be like the past 20 years.
I'm getting a beer goddammit ! |

My fear is they already think they have the QB if the future in Taylor, better grab a 5th of Jack instead of the beer. |

With Ryan being a so called D guru the first thing he should have said when he got here was " don't mess with the best D in football " - SABRES 89
Yeah. WTF was he thinking? It's all about his ego. Neither he, nor any of his coaches can adjust to the other team worth a damn either. More ego. "Keep bashing your head against the wall, you'll eventually get through!" There're only two guys suited to his defense. Gilmore and Darby, as good as they've been can't do it all themselves. The team as a whole is more suited to Schwarz's defense. Rex relies on blitzing to create pressure and when the blitz doesn't get there, someone's open.
Dareus is supposed to occupy two gaps, so the blitzers and other rushers have either one-on-one or able to come free, so he'll never get any sacks because that's not his job anymore. I thought he looked pretty good again. I loved his tackle on Sanu? I think? Where he just kind of tossed him down like he was a little kid. Hope Kyle Williams isn't out for any length of time. Tyler Eifert is a freak! How are you supposed to cover that? He could be Gronk 2.0. I was not very impressed with Mario today. He gave up on a couple of plays where if he kept going he could've gotten to Dalton.
EJ had a very EJ game. Pretty good numbers at the end, but a pretty ugly way to get there. I thought McCoy looked damn good at times, and looked like those two weeks did some good, but I'm a little concerned about the slipping. Could it be he doesn't want to cut too hard and re-aggrivate the hammy and so slips because he's not planting hard enough?
This team is far from out of it. Other than the Jets who look pretty good for the 1st wild-card, who else is going to get that 2nd wild-card? The Chargers? Steelers? The Raiders? So let's pump the brakes on the doom and gloom. Despite the flaws I think we're in decent shape. And if they stop taking bad penalties, if the defense figures it out against good teams and we get healthy -granted those are three big things-. Other than New England I don't think any one in the AFC wants to play the Bills in the playoffs should we get there. |
