I never expected the Sabres to make it this year. I could see them doing it if a lot of things went their way, but I figure there's only like a 5% chance of that.

I wasn't a fan of the Rex Ryan hiring to begin with, so I don't even want to talk about how the Bills should be better than they are.

Don't get me stated on Dareus, he's another bum.

I want to see a scheme where guys like Dareus and Mario Williams are allowed to do what they do best before I call either of them bums. Both were absolutely great last year because they played in a system that suited their strengths.

This new lottery system could make this a real interesting off season.
I see us around the 4-8 range and the chance to sneak up into the top three could really help find that last piece.. yet at the same time a chance to fall a spot or two would only add to the buffalo luck.

On the plus side it's nice to finally have the depth to draft a top end player and not force them into a starting role.

is the new lottery going to be weighted? i understand that the top three spots are decided by the lottery, but do you have a better shot at winning depending on your record?

Yes the weighted system is still there. On that note, i wonder what the Avs will do with the first pick, watching last nights game was so 13-14 sabres

2016 NHL Draft Lottery

Beginning in 2016, the Draft Lottery will be utilized to assign the top three drafting slots in the NHL Draft, an expansion over previous years when the Draft Lottery was used to determine the winner of the first overall selection only.

Three draws will be held: the 1st Lottery draw will determine the Club selecting first overall, the 2nd Lottery draw will determine the Club selecting second overall and the 3rd Lottery draw will determine the club selecting third overall.

As a result of this change, the team earning the fewest points during the regular season will no longer be guaranteed, at worst, the second overall pick. That club could fall as low as fourth overall.

The allocation of odds for the 1st Lottery draw will be the same as outlined above for the 2015 NHL Draft Lottery. The odds for the remaining teams will increase on a proportionate basis for the 2nd Lottery draw, based on which Club wins the 1st Lottery draw, and again for the 3rd Lottery draw, based on which Club wins the 2nd Lottery draw.

The 11 Clubs not selected in the Draft Lottery will be assigned NHL Draft selections 4 through 14, in inverse order of regular-season points.

The Bills' defense is 6th in Net Yards Per Pass Attempt against and 7th in Yards Per Play Against. But in order to win, has to be best

Better offence probably takes the pressure off the D no?

That would be correct. The offense hasn't done the defense any favors. Too many 3 and outs.

That said, the D-line has been way too quiet considering the guys they have on it. Part of the problem is that in the game they've lost, the opposition's QB has been very good at getting the ball out of their hand really quickly.

the bills D has allowed 98 points in their last 3 home games

the bills have scored 63 points in their last 3 home games

with all the hype, from the media, fans and coach about how great the D is, an 0-3 record is inexcusable for those 3 games when all the money is spent on the D

21 points a game at home with this D should be good enough to go 2-1, not 0-3

Is that not one of those moments where you just have to tip your cap to a very good/great QB?

It kinda surprised me a little how different the build of the 2 Buffalo teams is. Sabres tore it all the way down to get the franchise guy, Bills did some patch work in the off season to put together a wild card team.

You'd think the Bills would want to take a page out of the sabres book, especially now that they're owned by the same guy.
