You do realize the Red Wings are the ones that will be increasing ticket prices, right? - Scooby_Doo
That's right. You need to pay for a winning team. The Blues cut ticket prices in order to appeal to the fans and then systematically had a team that lost money.

BTW, can't really give two poops if I get banned for life for talking politics. We talk recipes, sex, medical advise and whatever else we come up with 365 days a year. To put a mum on politics before an election is BS. Although we all may have different political allegiances, the important thing is that people get out and vote for their own beliefs.
We have record voter apathy coming into this election and it would be nice if everyone got out there and made an effort. If you want to protest then at least go out and spoil your ballot.

See you when i'm back from my ban. - golfingsince
I'm tired of the whole "Get Out And Vote" spiel, all the choices are bad. You have the party in power who's been in power for too long and has shown itself to be just as corrupt and power hungry as the previous government with a leader who parades his economic record around like it's some sort of trophy while people are losing their homes and jobs due to the job losses in the resource sector. On the other hand, you have a party that's traded the reins of power with the Conservatives with a leader who's advisors are all the same advisors that were involved in the Sponsorship scandal and who advised his father who was one of the most hated PMs in our history. Then we have the NDP, who couldn't manage a business let alone a country without taxing and spending it to death.
I refuse to vote until we as a country stop voting completely and change the system to where the popular vote actually means something and the PM is elected seperate from the MPs like down in the States. I refuse to vote for the least offensive candidate and I refuse to settle for governments that are elected with less than 50% of the popular vote and then take that as a mandate to rule unchecked and ignore the views of ordinary Canadians.
Please JB go out and get Tyler Bozak for your number 2 center! Between Henrik and Bozak you are going to win 60 percent of you faceoffs. He is available!
no of course not....
and I didnt catch the game...I was asleep actually.
its just so unusual for them to best us....ever. I do think the coach is an improvement and could lead to beating the canucks more regularly unfortunately. - SMBDragon
Actually this game almost put me to sleep, what a yawner. The NHL talking expansion and 20% of the players in the nhl right now are minor leaguers. Talk about watered down. The canucks need to get a sniper to play with the Sedins. Vrbata and Daniel are the only two proven scorers and they are ice cold.

Benning definitely has done the right moves. Clendenning Corrado Bonino fell short of his expectations and were moved. The old management group would have kept the mediocre players , like they did with Raymond . That is why Weber is still sitting he is clearly the number 7 .
Benning seems to be the type to fill roles not positions type GM. I am liking what I am seeing - VANTEL
I'm far from a hockey expert & really only a 'plodder' if you like. Love the game but haven't got the understanding of it like 'most' of you guys (using 'most' as an understanding you guys know who is & who isn't).
Sutter last year started very well, he was well hated by a lot on our thread but that hatred subsided at the start of last season due to his go d play. It appeared that he was given more ice time through the year as a way of reducing Sid & Geno's TOI, & he didn't handle that well. He was actually thrown on the 2C with Geno on his wing for a short time, while Geno got his fitness back. In the end he scored 20 odd goals that cannot be laughed at, he's a great PKer due to his ability to score SHG. Time will tell if his TOI will be an issue playing top line minutes or he's developed from doing that last year. I hope he plays well.
Bonino I'm told on the thread hasn't done anything wrong & is a stable influence that is feeling his way into the new system. We would much rather have Boner & Dinger (Clendenning), for Sutter as it gave us the cap space for Fehr as well.
Now Dinger - my man! Hasn't been given a real look after having a strong preseason playing top 4. Scuderi is playing instead as an experienced PKer?? From what I've seen, Dinger is the better option but Scuds has the greater support at this time. His salary probably keeps him on the ice but having a young D this season, HCMJ probably sees Scuds as the safer option. I can see Dinger getting more time as he's looked ok so far. The system seems to suit his game as well.
So far the team hasn't really shown it's strengths so it's hard to make judgements until we see the team play well, which we are all hoping is sooner rather than later!!

Well then you'd better get out and vote for anyone other than the conservatuves: both liberal and ndp are set to change the voting system from the first past the post to a more representative one, both saying before the next election. Go vote for the libertarian party or another independent or the Marijuana party then. Even if they don't get in you'll have cat a ballot.
Note to the referee: not a political post, just a call to go vote for someone doesn't have to be one of the big 3. If you don't vote don't female dog about who gets in.
It pisses me off when Virtanen and baertchi don't see hardly any time in the third, but the goons get a lot. - phyllee
I agree, WD has too much loyalties to Vets, he also doesn't seem to like to play the younger players which is something I thought he would do more having been primarily a Junior/Minor league coach his entire career.
