I wonder if Vrbata had started thinking ahead to his next contract and the impact of being the Sedin's other line mate. Being the 3rd guy on that line hasn't helped anyone that has left the Canucks, they are usually seen as the beneficiary of the twin's production. I wouldn't put it past Vrbata thinking that he wanted to be on a line of his own to show his next suitors that he can be a successful point producer without relying on just being the Sedin triggerman

I agree, but the impact of these perceptions is millions of dollars to Vrbata (or if the Canucks are concerned, could be a difference between draft rounds or quality of prospects in a trade) and I am sure after last season started, the chatter probably said something along the lines of "a 30+ year old having a career year, must be the twins" diminishing the value and changing thought process afterwards.
Could be a totally crazy theory, but I would not be surprised as the comments and discussions that go on around the league seem to follow those narratives of quotes mentioned by insiders over the years

Lol....this is a public forum, Bubba, and I'm here to have a laugh and talk some hockey with the handful of not bad Canucks fans I know. Nowhere did I talk trash about the Canucks, or the fan base. Not even a little. In fact, if you want to read back , I've been nothing but complimentary towards the Canucks and the Oilers slim chances for a win. Sure, there's a donkey or two that needs straightening out for sure, but that's not ever why I'm here ( that's what the Flames thread is for).

As for the " Canucks fans only" malarkey, that's all it is...malarkey.
