Exactly -- that's a case where you are simply putting a player in a position to fail. You are going to give up chances, shots and goals with that, and you just have to know that and not do it

I think it's a combination of his own play, which has not been good, and he hasn't developed any chemistry. He remains a player without set linemates. Read and Couturier have been poor this game also.

The Flyers desperately need something from another line here, if they have any chance of coming back in this game. The Flyers are making the Stars defense look good.

Here is what I think I know at this point

The better teams are a step quicker. Not necessarily more skilled, but that extra step gives the other team the room to use their skill better.

Manning isn't ready to play against the better teams top lines. He needs some time to gain experience. He shouldn't be out there against the other teams best,
I thought that was the job of the street/Schultz combo.

It amazes me when a dman goes in behind the net and then throws a dangerous pass out front in the direction of his own goal. What a recipe for disaster.

As good as it is to do that, for some it's all they need to take it the wrong way anyway and begin a long misplaced rant.

We just really lack the presence of a big forward up front. Even the bigger guys don't play to their size. I know guys like Joe Thornton, Eric Staal and Rick Nash don't fit the bill for where this team is headed but you need a guy that have just force his was through the zone. We see it from Jake every once in a while but its not enough. The top six plays too small.
