if you were watching the eagles game last night they were making fun of how poor the flyers have been the past few years

i have no problem with them being split up. i wouldn't sit them. i've seen effort and skating...not gliding with disinterest,
so that at the bare minimum is some kind of positive. i wouldn't sit voracek.

i literally fell asleep sitting up in my bed at 8 pm mountain time. in the small portion of the game i witness, which was hideous except for the eagles 2nd td, i didn't hear a single thing about hockey, nor would i expect to on a MNF game on espn. perhaps you're joking. or talking about another broadcast.

no they were talking about how the eagles are philadelphia's only hope to win a championship in the next few years the singled out how the flyers missed the playoffs the last few years

They're getting chances, just not finishing. They also just became the first team to hold Dallas to fewer than 3 goals this season. By all means, bench everyone.

Yeah Tirico made a throwaway line about the Sixers rebuilding, the Phillies collapsing & noted the Flyers struggles. It was a 5 second comment, not a big deal.

Three lucky bounces ended up in the net, they got 2 we got 1. Tough loss, but good overall team effort. on to the next

Well, at least with Flyer fans, the line is drawn for accountability. Would you sit Read? He played like poop, was called for a slash with 2 mins left in the game (technically wasn't a penalty, but can't change a refs mind). I guess it is easier to sit someone who the fans aren't told is a cornerstone of the team, but kind of makes accountability a moot point then.

I guess it comes down to the coaches criteria for accountability. 4th line player and 6th defenseman can not have a bad game, but 1st line player getting paid superstar money with hefty expectations will eventually bounce out of bad season so far.

Unfortunately my definition of accountability is much different than others.

Flyers definitely on right path. I think the Phillies are finally on it, too. Lot of good talent in low minors, got decent returns for Hamels & others. New GM is obviously a huge decision, but the names leaked are people with stellar reputations. Sixers had right idea, but had injury & ping pong ball misfortune.

I get what Eagles are doing. Kelly knew he had a good team, but didn't think it was a Super Bowl team, so he blew it up. Should have gotten more for Jackson, and should have handled Mathis & Maclin better, but I at least see the ideas.

I blame Manning on that one. Mason should have had it but Manning has to be harder on that puck.

they all pretty much sucked tonight

I blame the layoff and their opponents have a great top line that make the chances count

Think outside the box, not everyone here reads a box score and determines the quality of play by that. A lot more to the game then getting shots on goal. I'm sure the cliches will start to roll in like "can't score if you don't shoot", but on the other hand they created 14 shots on net and still were ineffective during the game....

If it was a matter of being lazy or dumb play it'd be one thing. I don't see either. I see chances created, but not finished. I see hard work. Eventually the puck will go in. Read took a stupid penalty at the end. Other than that I didn't have an issue with him. White took a dumb penalty and two or three dumb off sides. Manning had a few awful plays where he got caught in a bad spot & couldn't recover.

I have more faith in Voracek & Read rebounding and being better than I do White & Manning, and I have more faith in Umberger & Schenn replacing them & being more effective.

I love the fact the Flyers are finally looking towards the future, but that future isn't next year or 2 years from now. I guess Giroux and Voracek are good jersey sellers for the time being.

Unfortunately I wish it was just a matter of once Voracek gets his first goal of season, but I guess I saw more issues then just that. He could of scored twice tonight and I would still be worried of his play so far.

i keep saying 2019...and while i don't think they'll be horrible until then, in fact, i think they'll be a decent/bubble team...but man, it's going to be a long wait. games like tonight just (frank)ing infuriate me.
