I actually don't think hes a terrible coach, I just think he did not understand/suit the Canucks lineup at all. I think he will be mildly successful in CBJ as they are already a scrappy type of team, Dubinsky, Foligno, Saad are more straight line guys he likes. He can damage some players and build up others, they just need to suit his style (which is management's fault for putting everyone in a position to fail, in my opinion)

Management is to blame, for sure, but I do not think he's a good coach. He might have been at one point, but it's like the NHL evolved in one direction and him in the opposite.
But his insistence on living in Point Roberts meant that both practice and game day skates weren't priorities for him, which made it difficult to correct any issues as they came up. He didn't bother the get to know his players-not just their peronalities, but their strengths and weaknesses on the ice-so much was made of his determination to turn the Sedins into shot blockers, but less mentioned and more egregious was his insistence that they play dump and chase hockey. One of the Sedins' strengths is the creativity they show when carrying the puck over the blue line; one of their weaknesses is skating so expecting them to dump the puck in and then somehow beat a defender to it who has a head start makes no sense.
There was his lack of contact with Utica, and on and on and on. No, I don't reckon he's a good coach.
