No, I do it all the time. At the offensive end you actually have a better angle on net, but it can be tougher to break out as you have to take the pass on your backhand.

At the NHL level, it shouldn't be a problem for forwards or dmen.

Very true. However what Toews brings is a leadership quality that many in the league just don't have. He leads by example on/off the ice...without Toews leadership qualities there, the players you mention don't perform like they do. It's a team thing.

My cousin played with Toews in North Dakota and years before he won those cups my cousin always said he had what it takes. And it sure has shown.
