Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Get Compensation as John Tortorella Hired by Columbus As the Canucks juggle lines in preparation for Thursday's date with the Washington Capitals, their former coach John Tortorella returns to the NHL as the new coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Divesting themselves of the burden that is John Tortorella is its own reward. Getting a (potentially high) 2nd round pick on top of not having him screw up your team is really the cherry on top.

Good for you, Vancouver.

I hear Benning is looking to trade the newly acquired pick for a 5th rounder.

The Flames put Ramo on waivers today after signing him to a one-year, $3.8 million one-way contract last July. Is there a team that needs goaltending and can take on that kind of cap hit?

- Carol Schram

I wonder if there is a deal in there between CBJ and the Flames? Terrible goaltending from goalie Bob, maybe if the Flames ate some of Ramo's salary...

Ramo is no better. Than their current back up

We had trouble scoring on him, or was it Ortio? (or is it any goalie?)

CBJ's goaltending has really let them down, if I was there, I'd be looking to bring someone in to push Bob a bit or to at least have another option. We know Bob isn't going anywhere with that contract and at least Ramo is on a 1 year contract.

Thanks for your concern, Carol.
My therapist has worked really hard with me and I've accepted that Torts is some one else's distraction. Serenity now.

Henrik said he and Daniel re-created the empty net chance from last game today in practice. "He couldn't get it over the net again"

That's cause Daniel wasn't showboating in practice.

He's been fine. Cost effective 3C that isn't a black hole is what Pens needed.

It's amazing what happened there. Didn't think it possible to offload tortellini and get compensated for it... I guess it was a case of no one else being available.

lol he isn't a black hole because you see that. He is purely invisible just like he was here after the first month or 2. The guy can't skate or hit. Great bottom 6 player
