Dallas is a fine team. A young d that's coming together with 2 or 3 young proven stud forwards. All about the goaltending

Although @NHLFlyers report that G Michael Neuvirth and Sean Couturier have upper body injuries, I'm told they both have concussions

"Rinaldo's a convicted felon, isn't he Monty?"

"Ah...doesn't really say it here."

"Well, he should be!"

It wasn't his worst hit. I guess I'm fine with it not being a suspension, but it wasn't clean. But that's Rinaldo. It's why I don't like him.
- Jsaquella

it was a dirty, late, chip hit with no purpose except to injure. i don't care if his feet only came up when contact was made or the head only got hit after or whatever. it's (frank)ing garbage. (frank) rinaldo and (frank) the nhl. (frank)ing morons.

Had a hunch it wouldn't be suspended...I still think it's dirty, but his injury looked more whiplash sustained than anything. It was a hit that JUST managed to skirt legality -- but skirt it it apparently did.

What bugs me the most, and I don't think gets brought up enough, is that there was 1 second left in the period. 1 (frank)ing second and he couldn't hold off on a vulnerable player who was his teammate for years. What a poop stain.

- Mononoke

it was (frank)ing garbage is what it was. i would have preferred that puke not be thrown out of the game so he might have to answer for his nonsense. makes me miss a guy like brashear, whom i would love to see pound the living (frank)ing daylights out of that douche bucket.

I was watching NHL Live earlier and E.J. Hradek speculated (and I sort of agree with him, I suppose) that the reason Rinaldo didnt get a suspension is because his next suspension couldnt be any less than 8 games and that hit didnt warrant 8 games. I guess.. whatever.
- Doc_Sarcasm

that could be the (frank)ing reason? what?! yhtbfkm. jfc.

what bugs me is that in consecutive games flyers were injured by questionable hits and all of the opposing teams players retained all of their teeth......say what you want about tough guys but a forth line that can play AND dole out some mayhem when need be is much better
- hogweed

i just mentioned brashear. i miss that guy. he could (frank)ing throw down and still pot a goal now and then. he had a very good shot when he was able to let it go.

there's no doubt that coots has a concussion. however, i fail to see how neuvirth getting dinged across the cage with a stick could have given him the same. if true, that's amazingly ridiculous.

I'm sure my question has been addressed in this thread but i cant backread right now

but i just watched the explanation video and it all seems reasonable, but I just wish they explained why they agreed with the original call on the ice, instead of just prefacing everything in the video with "but for the purposes of supplemental discipline"

- Crimsoninja

Yea, that doesn't jive with the explanation that the hit was not a charge, so how can they agree with the original call on the ice? I was wondering the same thing. If they deemed the hit wasn't a penalty, why isn't the game misconduct rescinded?

That hit wasn't a charge for "purposes of supplementary discipline"

I guess their definition of a charge for supplementary discipline differs from the definition of a major charging penalty

I think what they're saying is that it is not a charge, and they go to further explain why it isn't. If it was a charge, they would of suspended him.

Yeah watching the video again they lose credibility when they say they agree with the call on the ice. If it's not a charge, then rescind the match penalty right? Classic case of having your cake and eating it.

I'd like for them to tell us why Rinaldo was deserving of a match penalty. If the hit didn't fit the 4 criteria they have for "supplementary discipline" then what about the hit made you agree with the match penalty.

He could've, but at the same time, you can do it two ways with very good/first-line players: You can bench them, or you can give them an opportunity to work through it, in-game

You can have a word with Johansen and demand more. But benching him in your first game is nothing more than an Alpha Dog move, and you won't win that fight
