Awww, I missed all the fun?? Where do I get to talk about my "degrees" and more mature dialogue I fulfill my life with??

I think trades had to be made, I just think Murray has sort of a skewed view on value. - sbroads24
Unless you're a gm (which, clearly, you're not) talking to other gm's (which, clearly, you don't), you have no idea what anyone's true value is among the league's gm's.
And, with that, I'm out before I get attacked. |

This message board is ridiculous. I state an opinion that I dislike how the Sabres have conducted trades, and I become personally attacked. When I defend myself against these attacks, I get side-swiped with a claim that I engaged in that practice.
This place is like the Disney version of Fascism, agree with our collective narrative, kiss our butts or else! - hawk33
Wow , You seem to take it pretty serious for just an internet message board . Relax and play nice and it will be alright

I am with you on that. However I have to say even without him getting points which the whole team has been struggling I think he has been the most consistent forward for them.
I do think him and Eichel will be a force to deal with if they can figure out who is the RWer on that line.
I do think you will see 30 goal seasons being the norm for him if he stays on Jack's wing. - Stripes77
Hossa for Weber and McGinn. And what the hell, I'm feeling generous, a 5th in 2019. |

No one cares how many degrees people can pretend to have on the Internet. Please stick to hockey, it's in the site rules.

We talk about football all the time. For a week all anyone talked about was cutting down trees; that's not even sports. Unless you're into those lumberjacking competitions which I have to say can be pretty captivating.
Or are you just saying don't be a douchey troll in a nice way?

This team is so far ahead of where it was the last couple of years its almost unbelievable. I still think we are a high lottery pick even though we probably shouldn't be as we need time to jell and our best players are all very young and need some time.
As far as the GMTM trades, I didn't particularly like the Myers trade but I don't think it kills us either, I think we could have saved the 1st for something else but the other pieces are aren't worth much IMO. I wouldn't have done the Lehner trade but we'll see if that gamble pays off. We basically got ROR for Zadarov IMO and that ain't bad as teams win championships with guys like ROR as their number 2 centre behind a soon to be superstar in Eichel.

General conversation happens on here all the time. Being directed back to hockey talk happens when people start using non-hockey discussions and turning them into personal attacks and such. |

This is a pretty good read. The Sabres are currently #2 in the league in shot attempts allowed per game.

Who thought at this point the Sabres would be so good defensively? What, half the goals against were flukes? So, ok half of those are going in regardless, because there are a lot of fluke goals in the game, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how well they're playing so far; even with Weber. I guess Teddy's "system" wasn't that great, eh? |

It's been interesting to say the least. We expected to see a high powered offense and a not so great defense. I honestly thought we'd see a lot of 6-4, 5-4 type games. Instead it's been the complete opposite. |

That's great.
Edit: Hey, it could be worse. We could have Kaepernick. |

I think it's as simple as he forms opinions on players when it comes to their trade value and then he applies thay to players he really wants and is therefore om over paying with assets he doesn't care much for. |

So then is that really "overpaying" if he doesn't value his assets as highly as the "experts"? |

Yes, if his concept of value is off. |

My takes on the game last night:
1st
That goal against, UGH. What a fluke!
Sabres dominated most statistical categories in the first and that's good to see. Gotta bury those chances, but if they play like that, they will find success.
2nd
Leafs dominated the first half of the second. Johnson played well and we hung in there as a result.
3rd
The latter half of the second and bulk of the third the Sabres resumed control of the play. Excellent back checking routinely minimized chances for Toronto, okay transition game and actual forechecking(which didn't exist last season) was present. Nice Goal by Kane, way to get off the monkey off the back. You could tell it was bothering him.
3 on 3 I'm not a fan of, but man was Johnson impressive.
Shootout: I called it live that I would have preferred to see Moulson shoot third and Eichel 4th, but hey it worked out.
My 3 stars:
1) Johnson
2) Kane
3) Eicehl/Ennis - Nice effort by both
side note: Georges sucks - Buffalo--Sabres
Ennis had a rough game until late in the third. He was either hesitant or indecisive with the puck too much most of the game. Didn't create enough, I thought he had a tank year, Ted Nolan coached type game until, like I said, late into the third. |
