My takes on the game last night:

1st
That goal against, UGH. What a fluke!
Sabres dominated most statistical categories in the first and that's good to see. Gotta bury those chances, but if they play like that, they will find success.
2nd
Leafs dominated the first half of the second. Johnson played well and we hung in there as a result.
3rd
The latter half of the second and bulk of the third the Sabres resumed control of the play. Excellent back checking routinely minimized chances for Toronto, okay transition game and actual forechecking(which didn't exist last season) was present. Nice Goal by Kane, way to get off the monkey off the back. You could tell it was bothering him.

3 on 3 I'm not a fan of, but man was Johnson impressive.

Shootout: I called it live that I would have preferred to see Moulson shoot third and Eichel 4th, but hey it worked out.

My 3 stars:

1) Johnson
2) Kane
3) Eicehl/Ennis - Nice effort by both

We only play them 4 times this year, a little low for a division rival.

Seems to be agreement about Pysyk amd McCabe staying together, but I think Gorges' play has been shaky all year so far. He's taken some crappy penalties and seems too soft on the wall. Any chance Gorges/Franson becomes D_ pair #3 when Bogo is back?
