It is common sense, but that's how those stats are misunderstood and not used properly. It's offered as a criticism when really it is the farthest from it. That's exactly how a player like Yandle and his skill set should be deployed. - MJL
Wait...people misuse #fancystats!?!?!? I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you!! |

It was your troll buddy who brought up point totals.
The Rags board must be a really boring place if you guys feel the need to come over with this weak poop. Our dman who gets 75% OZ starts has 5 points in 8 games... who (frank)ing cares. If he's so good why hasn't he been extended yet? - Feanor
They actually invited me to the negotiations, but I can't make it until next Monday, I'll keep you posted |

It should be. Yandle is one of the premier offensive defenseman in hockey, and with the make up of the Rangers defense, they can afford to do that, to best try and take advantage of Yandle's skill set. - MJL
You see it as the coach utilizing Yandle's skill to the fullest. I see it as the coach not trusting Yandle defensively. Not saying it makes Yandle a bad player. He's a good player. He's just not a great player IMO |

If they had two McDonaghs then the extremely heavy sheltering of Yandle might be sustainable, but they don't. Giradi is getting shelled even more than Schultz is. |

They're only misused when it contradicts MJL's statements. Like when they said VL was cooked two years ago or when they said Umberger was nothing more than a 4th liner before last season or when they said Amac was an average third pairing defenseman. |

I agree, it's about Yandle not being best suited for defensive situations. When you have McDonagh, Staal, Klein, and Girardi, why would you put Yandle in those spots. A team is about the collective and makeup of players and what roles they're placed in. Imagine if we had the players to use Streit like that, would that make the Flyers better? |

Based on what? Corsi is a team number, and the season is young. Despite the early numbers, deploying Yandle in the fashion they are, with the makeup of their defense, is the right call in my opinion. |

we do have 2 mcdonaghs. 1 of them is just developing in the AHL at the moment. |
