The Flyers signed that horrible Gratton deal before any of those contracts. Let's please try to stay current to with a year or two, at most.

What player is on the back of the Ranger jersey you're wearing right now?

Claude Giroux has the most points in the league since 2011.

Therefore, Claude Giroux is a top-1 (at least top-3) player in the league.

It might not mean he's the top-1 forward, but it means he's probably top 5 and definitely top 10

That's nice, but we're talking about right now. You got him when his best years are clearly behind him and now he's overpaid and washed up. A shadow of his former self. You also have to take into consideration his transition game and his outlet passes when talking offensive defensemen. This is 2015. He's not the player he was in Phoenix. But you blind Rangers fans will never admit to that.

Did I read this right?!?! Top 5?!?? Rangers fans are so stupid and naive. They think their players are the best at what they do. He's not even top 15 in offensive defensemen anymore. Karlsson, Burns, Subban, Wideman, Josi, Carlsson, Letang, Barrie, STREIT, Doughty, Giordano, Byfuglien, Shattenkirk, Mike Green, Klingberg....He's maybe top 20, not top 15, not top 10 and no way in hell is he top freakin 5. Put down that pipe. Rangers fans never surprise me with the poop they say anymore, but that is just ridiculous. Top 5?!?! LMAO!

Yandle has been a consistent top scorer among NHL defenseman with point totals in the 50 and 60's, while playing on a team that was poor offensively overall. Offensively, Yandle is one of the elite defenseman in the league.

I always find it disturbing when men have nothing better to do in their day than "troll" a message board.

Mr Burns is excellent, and often overlooked.
- Feanor

Him and Vlasic are awesome. Vlasic is one of the most underrated d men in league imo -- he isn't chopped liver offensively, but he's a terifific puck moving defensive d man. Top 5 one in the league. Burns could be in contention for top 5 offensive d men. They compliment each other so well. Both are way under appreciated. While neither would immediately pop into your head if you name consensus number one, elite d men in the league, they're as good a top 2 as anywhere in the league, a number one combined if you would (with the added benefit of twice the minutes)

I only realized how good Burns was when I watched the World Champs since I only see two Sharks games a year.

The Flyers trading for Yandle when they were almost certainly going to miss the playoffs might be the most ridiculous idea this forum has ever seen.

This is saying something, actually.

I guess anything is possible if a season starts in the opposite way that a team might think. It might make a GM panicky and shift the trade market a bit, just out of irrationality.

CBJ needs to panic if Torts doesn't get the team winning soon. They are almost out of realistic playoff contention and it's not even November.

My stomach is gonna turn when Torts wins the Jack Adams after all the %'s start evening out for them and they make the PO's.

I think that has more to do with our coach taking advantage of his players strengths. Why would we waste Yandle's energy starting him in the defensive zone when McDonagh, Girardi, Staal, and Klein are all strong defenders?

It's common sense.

It's weird how we feel about Columbus. If this were any other team in the division, we'd be so happy.

I remember during the WC Burns was on fire. The West is spoiled with elite defensemen I don't get to see enough of: Vlasic, Burns, OEL, Keith, Doughty, Weber, Suter, Josi, Pietrangelo, Grossmann, Keith, Giordano, Lindholm

All the time I see people calling Girardi a shutdown defenseman. That's the narrative

Yandle has never put up 60 points as an NHL player and has hit 50 points twice in 8 seasons. So let's pump the brakes a bit here.

I don't see it happening. That Flyers team had a better defense with Kimmo-Coburn as the top pairing.
