I don't see it happening. That Flyers team had a better defense with Kimmo-Coburn as the top pairing.

I always find it disturbing when men have nothing better to do in their day than "troll" a message board.

(frank)ing goof.

Yandle has never put up 60 points as an NHL player and has hit 50 points twice in 8 seasons. So let's pump the brakes a bit here.
- mcefalu

You're correct that he's never hit 60, his career high is 59. You are however incorrect about how many times he has put up 50 points. He has done that 3 times, he had 52 combined points between the Ranger and Yotes last year. How many points would Yandle be putting up if he played with a good offensive team in the past?

As a fan of a team whose stars have consistently been shutdown by McDonagh - Girardi over the last 3 or 4 years, I'm surprised you don't respect Girardi.

I've been there. There's very little "Metroploitan" about that city. I mean, they have a few buildings, so that's something I guess.

Still can't believe that was the best they could come up with for a division name.

Oh, and (frank) the Rangers.

Welp, I guess I concede. Yandle is truly elite. One additional season of 50 points makes all the difference.

He is an elite offensive defenseman, but not as an overall player.

See, now you're back tracking. If you look back at your previous post, you specifically label Yandle "one of the elite defensemen in the league."

Yandle has been a consistent top scorer among NHL defenseman with point totals in the 50 and 60's, while playing on a team that was poor offensively overall. Offensively, Yandle is one of the elite defenseman in the league.
- MJL

I never said he wasn't a good offensive defenseman. He's just not as good as he used to be. He's really fallen off since being traded to the NYR. His game isn't what it used to be. He's not elite anymore. To me, elite is top 10 at your position. And he's not a top ten offensive defenseman anymore. Have you seen him play lately? He looks like a shadow of his former self. His confidence has clearly taken a hit. He doesn't look confident at all anymore with the puck on his stick now days.

You conveniently left off a word in your quote; the full quote is, "Offensively, Yandle is one of the elite defenseman in the league."

I'm not a fan of Yandle, I feel that he's overrated by the advanced stats crew and James Tanner in specific. I think it was a massive overpayment by NY. But, offensively, he is one the better defensemen in the league.

CBJ needs to panic if Torts doesn't get the team winning soon. They are almost out of realistic playoff contention and it's not even November.

I disagree, he's played 48 games as a Ranger. I think your stance is more about who the player currently plays for, rather than an objective analysis of the player. Did you see the goal he scored last night?

He's never really been a great analytics player. He's good, but he's benefitted from favorable usage over most of his career. He puts up a ton of points and is very good on the PP.

Rangers really (frank)ed up letting Stralman go. Much rather have him than the Boyle/Yandle combination minus Duclair and their first rounder.

Pile-on time. That's some pretty lame stuff right there, mcefalu. I went back and used my own eyes and this is what I find he said.

...Yandle is one of the premier offensive defenseman in hockey...

... a top offensive defenseman...

...Offensively, Yandle is one of the elite defenseman in the league....

Your credibility just took a big hit, sir.

I guess it's how you want to spin it.

I'd say his usage was based on his strengths, which is how any player should be used, really.
