I think the early signs are that he has the team heading in the right direction overall. I don't agree with everything he does, but the results are all that matters.

Where did I say I overlooked anything? For the record, I do not agree with how Hakstol has used Manning. With that said, overall, Hakstol's use of players does not come within light years of being awful.

I've had some disagreements with Hakstol's usage, but given his inexperience and relative unfamiliarity with the NHL, got to figure he's leaning on his assistants a good deal for some of the usage and other items.

By and far, it's worked well. Hakstol has shown he's going to adjust if he feels something isn't working, and he's not going to let salary or stature give a guy a spot, if he doesn't feel it's best for the team.
