So good

Definitely want to check out that GP in person.

- PetrolSexual

Yeah me as well, I'd also love to see the Moto GP there.

Last night was pretty sad. The worst period and a half I have seen post Torts. Detroit team on a major down swing and us at home looking for our first win and we totally $hit the bed. It was tough to watch.

As soon as Weber took that penalty I told my friends "they are going to lose this game" and when Detroit scored I was yelled at.

I understand this a bit, the disappointment with losses and what could have been but am thankful we haven't (yet) gone full tank because this place would be unbearable....

I just hope the keep McCann and JV up to improve this year. if they do I actually look forward to Higgins coming back and play with Horvat and JV, just because then he will get more minutes while Baer comes in and out of the lineup and probably gets sent down eventually. Though I still want Higgins gone.

Its painfully obvious why he is sitting in the press box.

How much Did Buffalo sign Franson for again? Would rather have him than Weber.

Not sure McCannwill stay. He has looked pretty good, but seems to get smoked on face offs (not sure of his actual record) and is pushed down quite a bit. I would still like him to stay, but he may need to get stronger to survive. I don't know what to say about Willie. Loved him last year, but the playoffs put such a bad taste in my mouth that I feel mad at Willie every time I see low ice time numbers for the kids. He's probably doing alright by them, but I'm losing patience.

He's got a good, not great shot.

-doesn't hit
-is scared stiff to get hit
-doesn't cover this man
-can't read a play
-won't block shots.

Coming out that flat in the 3rd was a major let down. Especially after all those missed chances in the first 2 periods. Kind of knew Detroit were going to bury their chances.

I don't understand where all the grit/hitting has disappeared to? I know when you have the puck you aren't usually hitting, but there wasn't any push back.

Too bad Higgins wasn't around to blame some of this sh!t on...

To be quite honest it was starting to happen pre-Torts. For awhile now we have been a doormat for struggling players/teams/goalies you name it. It's a mentality shift of sorts.

A good game vs the Habs would go a long way to getting us ready for this road trip, but playing a team like MTL now might also be the worst thing for us. Could be a route for them or we may clip them in OT. We literally have no idea which team will show.

One thing is for sure if it continues Benning will need to look at personnel changes after the decision on the kids. I have a feeling McCann might stay and Virtanen will be gone. Not sure what to do with Baertchi?

Sutter sucks, Sbisa is the worst defender in the league, Dorsett's contract is too expensive and long, Benning is a terrible negotiator, Kassian would be better in Vancouver on IR (and in rehab) then Prust in the lineup, the Canucks should have drafted Ehlers instead of Virtanen, Lack is a better goalie then Miller

Did I miss anything?

5 in a row. Gonna be 6 against a hot Montreal team unless the Canucks somehow do the unexpected.

It's probably the same for fans for other teams, but since I can remember watching hockey the Canucks have always played up/down to their opponent. They constantly make a rookie backup goalie look like a Vezina finalist, they let tired teams on back-to-back nights look like the fresher, rested team. They come out flat at home and have to survive the early pressure etc. etc.

I can't tell you how many times I've gone to a game where they were playing one of the worst teams in the league and walked away with the loss.

But then the Hawks come to town and they look like cup contenders. I bet they'll be up for the game against the Habs, Price hasn't fared well in Vancouver in the recent past, I'll say they chase him in the first, 6-0 Canucks!

I like mcanns shot. Dont think hed be better off at such a lower level in junior....prob more AHL but is ineligible. So likely better off staying in NHL.

I am hoping willie does not have a long leash with management but prob does with the personal connections. Yes it is well known he got schooled in the playoffs by hartley. A coach can win a series or lose a series by himself depending on his performance with strategic changes game to game, period to period. The better playoff coach won. This trend must end. Willie as another poster put it is another AV.

Personally, I'm in favor of using a multi tiered coaching strategy similar to what they did with team canada....3 strong coaching choices picked for specific strengths. Defensive specialists, offensive, strategists, as well as the ability to know when your team needs a shakeup. I'd like to see Willie share some bench duties. Best coach coming to mind is Carlyle. Defensive specialist, excellent strategist and hard nosed, running good practices.....willie would balance that out with his patience and positive approach.

Weber is blatantly obvious, as he sucks. Vrbata is a brutal player without the puck.
Sure doesn't give member #3 much hope when the other team has the puck. Unbelievable that it's this same bull every game fr Willie.
Was fully on board with hiring him. But is clearly more worried about looking after certain players rather then development or winning.

- Bieksa#3

WD is going to put out his offensive D men naturally... but not the rookie Hutton. Pretty standard.

I disagree that Vrbada is a disaster without the puck... although he has made a few extra blunders lately.
