Honestly though, I think the changing of the guard right now is too soon. Unless Johnson is somehow involved in a goalie trade, I don't see the point in trading for a goalie. We know that Lehner is likely not going anywhere, even if he was healthy.

It is a tear. Just not totally torn and needing surgery, plus the MCL and LCL heal a lot better/faster than the ACL and PCL.

All "sprains" are tears. Same with ankles, any joint really.

Grade 1: Just a tiny bit.
Grade 2: A little worse, but will still heal on its own.
Grade 3: Completely torn, will need surgery to be back to "normal".

But there are always exceptions. I tore my ACL, and it wasn't a bad tear. Nowhere near completely torn, but it was enough to render it useless and I had to have the surgery anyway.
