This is still early in the season, once mid-November hits most teams will be where they were expected to be one way or another. People forget that it takes time for teams to figure out lines, their systems and get chemistry going.

I think Calgary wil level off but Anaheim won't find their stride until they make a move and shake it up. Smart money is on the coach but its not a huger stretch to say Perry might want a change of scenery.

Anaheim shut out again!! bye bye boudreau......

From what I saw they just weren't taking passes cleanly and when they did they would try to make one too many. They need to get a few dirty ones to get guys going. They are holding the stick a little too tight.

The Ducks are the first team since the 1930-31 New York Americans to be shut out in five of eight games. That makes this more than just an old-school 'bad start.'

Probably doesn't help them that Jonny Toews scored the game winner tonight. Again.

Bieksa took a puck to the face in front of the net with about five minutes to go in the third and left amidst a pool of blood.

Hope he's OK. Just like last year, I cringe that he continues to not wear a visor.

B3 hasn't been able to get the sand out of his Vagina when it concerns WD since we got knocked out of the playoffs.

Well, again, I think they're underperforming and trying to figure out how to replace the goals that they lost from Belesky and the loss of Beauchemin on the back end hurts more than they'd like to admit. It looks worse because LA is on such a roll and the Ducks hate the Kings as much as Ottawa hates Toronto.

I didn't think Beleskey was a big loss. Those goals should have been replaced by Hagelin. But I totally agree about Beauchemin. He was a "glue guy" for them - much more than Bieksa will be.

Still - why can't Getzlaf, Perry, Kesler, Silfverberg, Colgiano, Fowler, Vatanen, Lindholm score? I am surprised that their issue is offence, more than defence.

Hagelin is not a spark plug. Belesky is. I don't see the goals coming from his style the way they came from Belesky's style.

It was disappointing to lose the way we did, and continue to lose a bit this season... can't hold a lead, that prevent defense or whatever it is called doesn't work.

But really, we weren't going to win the cup last year and not expecting to this year. Want to see the team try and have some success but what are peoples expectations to get down so early and easy on the team?

Most here thought Calgary would regress, but those same people also thought the ducks would be a top spot contender. Which is still a very real possibility, although with another coach.

Should we go into their thread and remind them?

Who was it that said Toews is over-rated??
Kaptaan i believe...

Almost as bad as when i predicted that CBJ would have a good team this year, just before they collapsed in the 3rd period and went on a great losing streak culminating in the hiring of Torts

weird, how for a guy who doesn't post here,Nucker, how he gets ragged on every blog...

not sure why some people are fixated on the guy, but what reason would he have to come back if he's getting the treatment and he isn't even here...?

one goal doesn't change that...

the guy gets a disproportionate amount of credit for whatever the Hawks have done. take a look at hte standings.. It's Kane who's tied for the league lead in points or close to it and same with goals...

He left some pretty deep scars. Unless he decides to change, we don't want him to come back.

For some reason most people all equate the best player with the most points...never understood that. It's like saying Michael Jackson is the greatest musician of all time because he sold the most records...

If you wanna act like you are four years old then you will be treated as such. I personally don't mind Nuckers posts at all but the negativity is a bit much. Sure we are all negative at times but still...

Having to stare at his stupid Flames avatar every time he posted would equate to like talking to a twelve year old. Grow up.

Toews is the best overall forward in the league IMO.

I would take about a dozen guys ahead of him... including but not limited to the following:

Bergeron
Kopitar
Crosby
Malkin
Ovechkin
Kane
Tavares
Benn
Datsyuk
Stamkos
Seguin
Zetterberg...
