is that right? even in the last year of a deal?

buff sure would be nice to have on the squad. every game I watch he absolutely wrecks shop. hes literally is too big and powerful to be fuked with. he just throws his body around at will with no retribution. that's what I really love about him. but hes also pretty much elite offensively. I happily take his defensive miscues in favour of all those qualities

either way, if I was Winnipeg id say fuk it and risk him walking for nothing instead of dealing him..

theyre a contender imo. and with a move for a goalie and maybe another center, theyre elite imo.

I'm with you, no way they trade him. They'll risk it and they have the cap space to get Ladd and Bye-few-ga-lynn resigned.

I think the reality of the situation is the blue line we have now is the one we will have for the year

I'm all for moving the 1st + 2nd this year to help and even moving Schultz or Fayne but it's unlikely to happen.

If we could orchestrate a big trade to replace Eberle and Fayne/Schultz + picks to get a big right winger and a mobile right dman, I'm all for it.

Also an upgrade on Lander would be ideal

fayne is bad. he had a really really weak game last night. he needs to be on the bottom pair.
but then I guess we're moving gryba into a top 4 role

how the eff u win hockey games when klefbom/nurse, gryba/sekera, are your top 4, followed by fayne and Davidson??

youre probably right though. as some have mentioned, its an evaluation year for pc. even if theres some logic to that and its sort of a reset, I think its all bad to do this again in year 6 of a rebuild.

Fayne has been underwhelming this year, I thought he was decent for us last year. But the thing is, he's getting paid, what 4 mil? He's better suited as an 18 min guy playing tough ES minutes. But the reality of the situation is we need a 25 minute guy who plays tough minutes and can skate and move the puck. Can Schultz be that guy? Maybe. Gryba's play so far has almost made Fayne redundant IMO.

why does st.loo deal shattenkirk?

he might actually be better than pietrangelo from the little ive seen recently.
offensively he certainly is. better puck mover for sure and better pp qb.

maybe not the big body defence guy, but hes not a liability defensively either.
admittedly I didn't know much when everyone was raving about him, so ive watched him abit the first few games and wow, is he ever good

its always the same, so amped for hockey season in October-get rogers gamecenter-watch every game u have time to. piss off the gf cause u aint spending any time with her cause youre watching the blues/caps game.
by december-only watching the oilers games u have time for and not even super amped on those as theyre out of the playoff race

I have to agree about your assessment on Fayne and suspect he won't be with the team come next season. I think with his level of play so far, his dollar value and others that could take his spot he will be replaced.

I also have a feeling Shultz won't be here as well. I am not a fan of his but can admit that he has improved his game this year but man when he messes up, he sure messes up and I can just see PC freaking out when that happens. Shultz really doesn't fit the mold of the type of Dman PC likes, as well as the salary he will probably be looking for may spell the end for him in Edmonton by next season.

Always fun to live in the clouds. Great deal for Edm but not so much for STL.

No way they move Shatty. His contract is wicked good

I'm a proponent of that and maybe if they get close to the salary cap ceiling (haven't checked), they'd listen with our 1st and maybe they add a 2nd?

If I recall he's actually quite heavy considering his size, he has a pretty good build

Edit: 6' 202lbs so not bad. Thought he was heavier

Disagree. November's schedule doesn't start against St Louis and Nashville and only features three games against trap style teams.
- MaximumBone

Well, we still play pitts 2x, chicago 2x another against washington and LA. 9 road games, 2 sets being on back to back nights and only 4 home games. If quality of teams are not quite there, it's still pretty ugly.
