So...you are comparing how the kids are doing in pre season vs WHL/NCAA rookies and mostly AHL squads as opposed to facing the men of the western conference? And the fact they all, don't have 10 goals apiece yet is WD's fault? You do realize how difficult it is to integrate 4 rookies into a regular NHL roster right?

Thats the problem with this site....the conversation gets lost. I was originally responding to posts about the kids not producing....I was pointing out that they have little ice time. They looked better when in pre season for exactly the reason you said....AHL players vs regulars....AND increased ice time.
No not 10 goals etc....but theyd have a few with more time. Sure WD needs to be careful ...Im not upset with him over this....im upset with him for other stuff.

That's the thing; about to set a record **looks at schedule to see that the Canucks are up next** the team probably thinks to themselves "Jackpot!" - PetrolSexual
So the Canucks are likely heading for a top 10 pick. It's not all bad.

Actually for the most part I agree with you the kids do need more stability when it comes to TOI. But I also understand what MNGT is trying to do with them. It's a catch 22 for WD IMO. Play them too much and live with the mistakes or limit them with their development with TOI...it's really a lose lose for WD right now. But it takes time. You and I may differ on WD but ultimately the goals has to be to bring these kids along properly. I followed WD in Med Hat and thru Texas and I believe he can do that. Is he a playoff coach for us long term? Hard to say. In 5-6 years when the team is stable and contending again I could see ownership going with a different GM/Coach to polish the team for playoffs but we are so far away from that. WD needs time and personnel changes to make this current situation work. Pretty cut/dry.

the kids need ice time to score and succeed. The reason they were so good in the pre season is 2 fold....
1. less vets playing on opposition
2. had wayyy more ice time.
Now with season under way, WD expects JV and JM to score with 2 min of ice time?? Sedins can be held off the scoresheet getting 20 min. It's unrealistic.
I had such high expectations of WD coming in. Playoffs really exposed him. I don't like his performance this season. I'm a carlyle fan. I'd like to see him added to the bench to balance WDs shortcomings. - SMBDragon
