Why is it so difficult for some people to grasp the notion "that Bernier is not an elite goaltender"?

Please notice that there is no mention of James Reimer in that question - because Bernier's and Reimer's respective performances only form input to the Coach's decision making.

I'll make it incredibly simple for the Bernier wives to understand:
1) lets assume that Reimer is the worst back-up in the NHL
2) lets assume that Bernier is the bottom five of starters in the NHL
3) simple question. a. should Bernier have gotten any more than the lowest possible contract offer during the summer - CLEARLY not. (FYI I told you so)
4) simple question b ... when did Bernier look his best as a keeper - answer: when getting lots and lots of shots from the perimeter like he was in particular in his first season in Toronto
5) simple question c (most important) - should any NHL team be satisfied with their designated #1 being in the bottom five of goalies league wide? HOPEFULLY yo u don't need this one answered for you.

In short he sucks - and yes of course several excuses can be made... i) team in front of him ii) bad starts are just a short term problem (not!) iii) he has the attitude to work through his problems iv) but he's a former first round pick!
