Lecavalier on a line with VV and White. That is appointment tv tomorrow evening. - PLindbergh31
I don't think so. If couturier is good to go he is in line up. Maybe Umberger or laughton go to 4th line. |

It's quite possible 'Stol and 'Stall might hate MacDonald as a player even more than you and are planning on buying him out. But it's also possible the main reason he's down there is so they have the cap room to recall Labarbera or another AHL vet.
We can't really tell until they finally trade LSchenn or make some other move to clear some cap space. Then if they they recall MacDonald and play Manning ahead of him, or promote Ghost instead I'd be confident in saying they are planning on a buyout in summer 2016. Hextall spoke at length about how he expected MacDonald to be back on the Flyers at some point, but I find that fairly hard to believe. - Feanor
I'd have to see the buyout numbers compared to a potential trade of MacDonald with retained salary. I know the cap is preventing them from doing so, but the best thing to do is to play MacDonald. He is better than 3 of the current defenseman on the team in my opinion. |

Couturier tried to practice in a non-contact jersey, and left the ice after a few minutes. He's not playing tomorrow night. |

This seems like a plausible scenario.
Do they have the flexibility to call up a forward for tomorrow? It's a waste of time dressing Lecavalier. - PLindbergh31
Welp, they are paying Vinny, so if he's next up, might as well play him. Put him on the 2nd PP unit and shelter his ES minutes as best you can. |

Weird how concussion symptoms show up several days after the contact, huh? |

Couturier has been having symptoms and was diagnosed with a concussion, which is why he hasn't been playing. His symptoms didn't suddenly show up several days after contact. |

Do you think Voracek's new contract is putting too much pressure on him? Similar to MacDonald. |

Nah. Just a slump. He's creating chances, just snakebit so far. Only a matter of time before he breaks out.
MacDonald was given an absurd contract that he had zero chance of living up to. |

Last night was a bit upsetting. Really brought this Flyers team down to size IMO.
Streit and Shultz are out there for way too many minutes.
Mason did not look as sharp as I know he can be (goofy, fluke goal aside).
Giroux and Voracek are just plainly not getting it done.
Simmonds is frustrated as all be.
I'm not noticing Read enough to justify his cap hit.
Injury bug yet again.
Flyers look slow on the attack.
Flyers offense is quickly neutralized and turned up ice way too easily and often.
The Sabres high end picks still learning the game were able to basically dominate the Flyers for stretches. |

I turned it on in the 12th. That was intense and nerve racking, especially as an anti-Mets fan. The hell were you watching?!
I actually like baseball so my opinion is probably invalid. - Mononoke
It was a great game. With loads of subplots. I gave up at start of 14th (8:30 am conf call) but KYW told me bases loaded bottom of 14th so I had to get up and watch. Nice redemption arc in the storyline. |

As a player, I completely agree.
I don't know him as a person. - Scoob
Everything I have seen from his charity work, to media coverage, and 24/7 he seems like a great guy off the ice. Maybe Bill can comment.
Doesnt make up for his mental errors on the ice. |

People here were arguing that because he passed the test the night of (or day after) that he couldn't possibly have a concussion. |

I'm actually concerned that he's eating a lot of ice time but getting 60% OZ starts and producing no ES offense leaving him at -4. - Feanor
Team's shooting 1% when he's on the ice so far... how long do you think that will continue? He and Gudas have been seeing a 60% share of puck-time when they're out together... that's a really strong sign that the lack of production is luck-based, not play-based.
Streit is still our best defenseman. - Feanor
With all due respect... |

The guy who passed all the tests was Raffl. Couturier was listed as an "upper body injury" from Jump Street. |

We're seeing what happens when Couturier is out of the lineup and or not used as the main shut down center against top lines. Top forwards are going to carry the play. The Flyers defense is not good enough to get it done alone. They have a decent record, but is that sustainable? |

What should Mason have done differently to prevent the goal being scored? - Feanor
I only watched it on the CSN broadcast, havent seen gifs or video of it after, but it really was a lucky chance that shouldnt have even happened. Sometimes it happens. The only thing he maybe could have done is been more square to the shot, but the way he played it, its usually not a goal.
Had it gone in short side or under him...then it deserves criticism. |

The way they're taking better care of the puck as a team is definitely something they can carry forward with them.
But that d-corps... it's gonna catch up to them in a major way. And if Mason's gonna be just OK by his standards this year.... yikes. |

I would guess in the 1.7 range per year for what feels like forever. I think the goal would be to retain about 2 mill/year and get him completely off the books sooner, when you need to start paying the prospects. |
