I had said earlier in the day yesterday that Girgs was finding his way with the new coach. He had a very strong level of comfort with Nolan being that they had previous experience together from the Latvian national team. I don't know how Bylsma could have an issue with him after last night's performance. That was the Girgs we've seen most of the last 2 seasons. It was good to see him break out like that last night. He easily could have had several goals last night. - HonkFortheGoose
I'm glad he's playing 3C. Ya know, where we all knew/hoped he'd end up. He's a great fill in on any line though. |

To be honest, I couldn't care less that he said this. He has every right to be pissed about people talking about him the way they have. Why it is OK for fans to criticize us but it's not OK for him to criticize the fans?

Sammy is my favorite player, i've never said anything about him being injured. But, for him to generalize fans and down talk what people do for a living and calling his fans (who are the reason he has a job and a paycheck) losers? Just really rubs me the wrong way. He is a #4 pick that we gave up an additional 1st rounder for.... people are going to be mad that he can't stay on the field, or do anything when he is on the field. If he cannot handle that he is in the wrong profession. |

when you pay for the seat, you have a right to vent on what you see and don't see for your dollar
when you get paid millions, it may not be a bad idea to be a little humble and gracious that your not flipping burgers for min wage |

Yeah but when you start talking down to people who make significantly less money than you about their jobs, that is a low blow. Not to mention WE PAY HIM. It's even more insulting that because this is Buffalo he can just make the assumption that were all just lower middle class people without a pot to piss in. |

He wants to be on the field and contributing just as much as we want to see him there. People are acting like his injuries aren't real or something. He's frustrated and the fans ragging on him about "always being injured" has probably pushed him over the edge.
Should he have said it? No. But the fans need to back off stop female doging about him being injured too. |

Or maybe people should treat athletes like human beings instead of functioning commodities. Get mad at their play. Get mad at their mistakes. But once the personal insults come flying FROM BOTH SIDES it's about time to (frank)ing stop. You think Sammy was bad, you should see what was said about Manuel. It's despicable to say the least. Yes, he's awful, but he's just as human as the monsters throwing death threats at him. I don't want him on this team because he's a terrible QB. As a human, and I've met him several times, he's actually a very nice and thoughtful human being. |

I have never criticized Johnson and have no problem with him playing until Lehner heals.
But the blog leaves me scratching my head.
"The much maligned(for some reason)... .909 sv %."
I am lost. His save percentage for the season according the nhl.com is .884. His save percentage last night with 22 saves on 25 shots is .880.
So I am both confused as to where you get the .909 number and why you don't understand the reason he is much maligned.
Again, I am fine with Johnson and never complained about him or wanted TM to run out and get another goalie. But I understand why others do. It is no mystery. It is because his actual save percentage is much lower that the one you provided, and because he lets in some soft goals at bad times. - SabresPanacea
as pointed out it was 30 of 33...my mistake...
imo, he's much maligned because he has played very well and most of the goals he's let in this year were pretty much unstoppable, unless you were hasek...he didn't even get any love for last night's game-saver in ot...matthew coller on wgr this morning said that it was a poor shot from laughton as to why the puck didn't go in...
now there's a head scratcher...

There is a difference between being upset, and taking low blows at your fans, who again, buy your jerseys, pay for tickets and ultimatley pay your salary.
Now you have 10 year old kids asking there Dad why there favorite player said he is a loser and asking why his Dad has a worthless job. |
