Sutter and Bonino are not names that get anyone excited... but it was a good hockey trade for us. The people who think we got fleeced because it wasnt a one for one must be rethinking that now. We are talking about a player who seems to be able to slot in anywhere because of his speed and solid D play and still get points.
He's going to be one of those players you know you are missing when he's out of the line up. - boonerbuck

Sutter is better on the faceoff, offense , defence, going to the net, setting up plays, being involved in plays , leading, scoring, and about 30 othe category's . Sutter is a decent second liner who can slot anywhere, Bonino not so much |

I'd like an upgrade at 2nd C over him. I guess we just have to see how quickly McCann develops. The only issue I had with bringing in Sutter was him being in the way of Horvatt and McCann down the road and then JB gives him a long contract....
It is good security and Sutter is young still so you cant blame him I guess.

Spot on. Sutter has been as advertised. People get their panties in a bunch over the cash differential between Bones and Sutter but all the benefits of Sutter are there...regardless if he get more points than Bonino or not. |

I see him differently . He has. Been given an opportunity and he is succeeding. Where is he in ranking in points for Canucks I would think he is top 3?

Horvat will bounce back after the slow start and McCann will take his place in the lineup for good when he beefs up a bit for the west. By then Sutter will slot in where he needs to be or they will move his contract out in the last few seasons. Either way...we win. |

The only real issue i have with Sutter is his NTC. Which is Benning's fault not his. As a player i liked that trade from the beginning. That being said, i always trade him in NHL 16 as they didn't give him a high ranking. |

Why is it Benning"s fault? do you think that Sutter didn't ask for a ntc? he has been traded twice against his will, I would think he would want a ntc. I don't see why it's Bennings fault. |

An NTC usually means signing for less than market value for his skills. I see what he is being payed as market value, so if Sutter wanted an NTC, Benning should have given him less. |

Because he had the ability to say no and he didn't. Either he offered it, or he capitulated to the demands... either way, it's on him.
I've seen way too many of them given out to undeserving guys (Kaberle, McCabe, Komisarek, Blake, and the list goes on) to be able to do anything more than blame the guy who cuts the contract... |

Exactly. If you don't get security go to the open market and see if someone will offer it.
Aside from Vancouver And Pitts HB blogs Sutter is well respected .
I see you too are a fan of the kid too |

Doing good friend , hope everything is great aside from the Leafs - VANTEL
I'm actually quite happy with the Leafs... they're having crappy results (i.e. higher draft pick), but are already playing much better, both by the numbers AND the eye test...
Beyond that, everything is good... settling in in Cali, got to go to the Sharks game last weekend and work is going well. How's everything for you? |

I'm as much a fan of him as any other Canuck, I just found it strange that Benning was being blamed for the NTC. His NTC is full for the first 2 years and the last 2 he has to give a list of 15 teams he wont go to, so 14 he will go to. |

Don't forget it gave a full NTV for this year, so 3 years in total. My point is we should have been able to get him for 500k less than we did with an NTC. |

Got married on the weekend had sex 3 times this week with the same person, so I am going to call it a good week so far.
Leafs have been entertaining even though results are showing different, but they are playing decent. Same with our guys |

The team who lands the best player wins....the exception would be if we lost a great prospect or draft pick. That didn't happen. Bonnino is a flaccid plug |

Nice man, congrats! (On the wedding... a grown-ass man congratulating another grown-ass on getting laid is super weird!)...
Hockey has been good... it's weird having games start at 4pm, but at least NHL gamecentre means that I can follow along |

But that was given by Pitts. I think a ntc is worth more than 500k. Still don't see a reason to blame Benning. |
