There's only two winners in the NHL.
Stanley Cup and Draft Lottery. Everyone else is a loser!
We've got one of those wins right where we want it! |

At this rate, I think Roy is going to be gone by All-Star break. Frankly, he needs to be a coach and not a friend before this gets too out of hand, and do some prodding in that locker room. Recognize the actual issues at hand, stop focusing on what very little there is that's good, and make some adjustments. |

Roy isn't going to fire himself. If he gets too frustrated he could step down but it won't be until the end of the season. |

The PP was bad, BUT... At least the avs can actually get the puck into the other teams zone and pass the puck around. The last several years they always had trouble just getting into the zone. |

True, now we need to figure out that shooting the puck can result in goals. |

This isn't just a "Roy thing". It's a Kroenke/Altitude/Avs thing.
For the last decade, it doesn't matter how poorly the Avs play (and for the most part it's been pretty horrible), it's like they've been given orders from "on high" not to say a single, solitary negative word. The exception to the rule seems to be Mark Rycroft's analysis during the intermissions and they only give HIM a couple of minutes.
I understand. These guys all work together. Their kids go to school together. Their wives do charitable work together. You can't very well "bash" a player on TV and then expect everything to be fine the next time everybody gets together for dinner.
However, there is a difference between GOOD analysis that points out the flaws (like Rycroft does) and outright bad-mouthing a player.
I don't expect Mike and Peter to be jumping around the booth calling people names any more than I expect Patty to start calling players out during interviews (like Torts). But please, please, please stop sugarcoating EVERYTHING.
Fans aren't stupid and hockey tickets aren't cheap. If they keep this up for much longer without even ADMITTING there is a problem I hope the fans start voting with their wallets and staying home.
Loyalty is great but BLIND loyalty without any return at all is just stupid. |

He was signed to a 4 year coaching contract, so nothing would even happen until the summer if he feels like hes not the answer to the Avs woes.
But once they win the lottery draft and pick Matthews, the package deal of Crawford would be coming with him |

Just still cant see them making a change until the offseason (cant believe we have to think that far ahead already this early in the season)
I was expecting them to struggle with so many new players, and young ones at that. But the fact that roy has been in full denial mood in the media, concerning that this is what they will be this year due this stubbornness to change and adopt. |

If you're going to pony up a haul like that, methinks that COL would be better suited picking up a strong defenseman. |

I had some fun too on Hockeyscap, reloading the Avs next season, trust in the young D (Zads and Bigras), moving on from Vets like Tangs, moving Iggy to either retire a Flame or to a cup contending team.
