If this debate was coming up in the first 2 years after 04-05 lockout, I could understand your side of it better. But considering that like 90% of the goals scored in the NHL these days come off mad scrambles right in front of the goaltender, the best play to make is to throw it at the net, get the goalie down, and bang it home.

There was a pretty interesting article out this week that they believe that it's pretty close to even the amount of abuse between men and women. They did a survey of 400,000 people. Men obviously are more prone to use physical violence, but women are much more likely to be emotionally abusive of their male partners.

An interesting statistic is that the amount of male on female abuse reports are going down, and the amount of female on male abuse reports are going up. So are the numbers going down because it's a lot less tolerated than it used to be so there's less incidents? And are the male numbers going up because of traditional gender roles being more murky than ever and women are more empowered than ever(still have a long way to go), or is it because emotional abuse is being more widely recognized as abuse.

One thing was certain, domestic violence is still a massive issue facing us and that people that need help still have trouble getting it for a number of different reasons.
