We absolutely destroyed the Penguins. Dominated them. Yet, we lose. Because that clownpoop in net. It's excessively frustrating. - TheSabresTaco
it's beyond (frank)ing frustrating. We would have won if we had a goalie that could control rebounds and not look like a poop (frank) in there. Come on Murray, get a god damned goalie. |

You already know that first shot on him in the first minute of the game is a goal. |

On the flip side, their goalie made 50-something saves and hasn't played since 2014.
he had at least one post and the puck was an inch away from crossing the line. it could have been 6-4 Sabres.
Not sure how much more the forwards could have done. |

No way he does it now with Lehner half way(ish) through his injury. I still subscribe to the theory that he wants another high pick but a watchable product as well. Hence no upgrade over ochotanko. |

It sucks watching this team work hard night after night, worthy of more wins than losses but we get stymied because Johnson sucks donkey balls. Tonight is a perfect example. And when caveman Lenner comes back, he won't be sharp off the get go. Maybe Ullmark can steal a game or two.

My point of view on the goalie situation is there's no point to make a trade if it's only going to be a marginal improvement. We're not going to go out and get another starter because we're committed to Lehner. Johnson has given us the chance to win most of the games, he hasn't been stellar by any means but you can't pin any game other than maybe the Montreal game directly on him. When the offense gets 52 shots on an AHL goalie, they should be able to score more than 3 goals. The defensive lapse in the first ten minutes of the game combined with everything else is what killed us here. |
|
|
|
Ok. That is 87 games played. If you add his wins and losses and ot losses you'll see it adds to 79 decisions and even that number is skewed because you can still earn a win or loss when coming off the bench in relief. But still, the number is higher than millers shutouts. So I will eat my crow on that one and blame it on Miller sucking and not getting a lot more shutouts. ) - SabresPanacea
Not trying to be a Richard. Just shutouts are very hard to acquire. I think the record is only 112 or something like that and a starting goalie would easily surpass that in just two seasons |

I said that the other night too. Although he did end up with 8 SOG tonight, so make of that what you will. I like it.

I can't say I watched the game as I was stuck at work and doing the husband duties of shopping after but I watched the highlights on the Sabres app.
First thing I noticed Johnsons rebound control or lack there of it more like needs help ASAP. He gave them 2 goals at least.
Second thing I noticed is Weber. Enough said.
Third thing is ROR is really really good.
Fourth thing is 53 freaking shots on goal? Last year that could have taken 3 games to get.
Did I miss anything? |
