Some of the additions are not here now if Millsy is though. I'm glad we've moved on even if we are weaker in net at the moment.

we could have signed him in the off season

Kessel, Malkin, Crosby > Giroux, Voracek

This last year?

I thought he had signed an extension for this year in Vancouver and the only way to get him was through a trade.

forwards who will backcheck hard and defensemen who know how to play a 2-on-1 are two areas that the team totally lacked when miller was here...save for the 2009-10 season

I want a win, that's for sure, but if the game is anything like the one on Tuesday, I'll be pretty happy. It's just really nice to get to watch games with two legit NHL teams on the ice.

I still believe we should have made a play for Phil Kessel.

If we were a little further into building the team, I would agree. But I don't think timing of his availability fits in with where we were at that point.

That was the first game I intensely enjoyed in quite a few years.

Thoroughly entertained by all 4 lines.

Johnson even sent me back to Hasek days with that save in overtime.

I hope that is a portend of good things to finally come this fan bases way.

The team is 18 months into a 36 month timeframe established by the owner.

By retaininng $1.2M in salary annually, the leafs gave him up at $4.8M (in the first year). They accepted prospects and miscellany in return.

We coulda been really really exciting.

haha, I posted that on the Philly board that night (not to rub it in, someone else commented on the save first) - said it wasa flashback to Hasek.

Ennis, McCabe, C-Lo, 2016 1st, and 2016 3rd.

While incredible, that save is almost entirely luck as it is Johnson reaching back and the puck hitting his hand. Skill wise, he can be commended on the effort of reaching back and staying with the play, but not so much the stopping of the puck. Having said that, it was a huge save and lead to our team being much more upbeat after getting the W as opposed to losing off of that play.

21 for Lehner and Legwand refutes that.

I think we're going to see a lot more games like that this year than we will games like we were subjected to the last few years. But it is a very young and inexperienced team overall, so there will probably be a few games (like the Montreal one) that leave us scratching our heads.

The team is FUN again. I don't want to say it's like the 05-06 season, but hockey is longer a burden to watch.

Im with ya on this one but i think it's his own zone/neutral zone play that kept Murray away.

Your refutation is meritless in light of Ottawa's non-tank.
