Spector posted a writer for the Wild mentioned if Pominville doesn't get back his scoring touch, the Wild may buy him out, will cost a lot but they may.

If they did, I'd take him back on a 1 or 2 year deal. He'd be a great depth add

The trade itself was fair. The contract was absurd.

He doesn't fit the mold of the big, fast, young team that we are trying to build.

We brought a younger version of him back in o'reilly. I know they're not the same style of play but they both excel in similar areas.

I'd be happy with a line of skunk, girgens and pommer

Why?

He was coming off a 5 yr 26.5 mil contract and a 60 point season. They gave him a modest raise of 5 years 28 mil (300k per on the cap). He had a 54 point season last year and was the teams 2nd leading point getter. If he's not scoring, he's at least giving you sound defensive play and pk help. If Vanek isn't scoring, he's useless.

I'd rather have Pommer on the 2nd line than Gionta.

Decent chance they don't get him if they had kept pominville. Like SB said id take him back short term if the wild chose to buy him out.

He was already signed for another year when they gave it to him. No reason to extend a guy like that for that long at that money. It isn't necessarily stupid money. He is just about to the point where he is going to transition from 2nd line winger to 3rd line winger.

No way. Gionta is gone in another year and that is found money.

No to Pommer. I don't want any former Sabres. Although I was wondering if Marty was in good enough shape to play.
