I don't know if I understand the rules anymore...
EDIT - Not saying the stone hit wasn't a headshot, but Zetterberg seems to have gotten off without any punishment at all. Not even a phone call about the incident. - MaxTLimit
See, suspending Stone I can understand. No malicious intent, but the guy did get hit in the head and the league is really trying to crack down on that.
Even not suspending Zett, the league as always been inconsistent to an insane degree.
But to call that a clean hit just seems crazy.
EDIT not even saying he should be suspended, but 2 minutes at least... |

One can conclude based on the movements. Regardless, using his elbow and targeting the head seems pretty clear and should be enough to warrant discipline. - AlfieFever
The elbow barely makes contact, he rolls off Pageau more than anything. As for the skates, I'm guessing the NHL had an angle that was showing that Zetterberg's skates left the ice after the initial contact... as he wasn't suspended. |

As I recall, it was enough to bloody Pageaus nose, for what it's worth. |

I can see Pageau's head whip back. |

My 6 year old bleeds from the nose for basically no reason. |

What you don't see is he protects himself by lifting his arm and hits himself in the face with his stick |

The league felt compelled enough to look at the review the hit, so not exactly no reason here.
Not a huge deal, but not a clean hit either.
If another angles comes out and exonerates him i'll gladly admit to being wrong, but from this angle, it does look like at leat a penalty. |

Is this an amendment to the rule?
'If a player feebly attempts to protect himself at the last second, a leaping hit to the head is deemed a clean hockey play'

Any team that employs an assbag like Neal should occasionally have a suspension thrown at them based on principle. Ottawa is dirty....to call out Detroit is insane. Any hockey fan knows they don't fight and don't particularly care about the physical side of their game. It is their Achilles heel and why they cant be a contender. That being said, Ottawa employs a douche, take the suspension and shut up. Your Senators are like the Flyers, classless. |

Whatever move on Stone sits for two games and comes back fully rested and on fire. Hoffman and Lazar back in. Let hope for a big dub on montreal. Lets go boys. Anyone else see our prospect is leading the Q in points. Props to our scouts for being amazing. |

It's many more than just scumbag Neal.
When it got to 5-1, the main theme on the blogs became "Keep your heads up" and "Watch for cheap shots". |

Ericson? Franzen? The guys are terribly dirty, only difference is they don't back up their dirty play. Typical b*tch Red Wings. I can hardly watch their games. Get off your high horse, Babcock is gone and you're only two respectable players are aging. |

To follow-up from the last thread...
"Best place to get Sens tickets? And go.. "
Erik6Karlsson5
Through me!
I have 2 season seats for over 10 years but since my 2nd child's arrival, I don't have as much time to go to games so I sell half the games of my seasons seats...
They are great seats located in Section 320, Row A (2 seats)!
I sell them cheaper then Capital Tickets AND also include a FREE parking pass ($15 value!)
I still have 12 games for sale, PM me if interested... - Raven33
Messaged you! Hopefully you have a game for me

When I saw the hit, I thought he would might be suspended for it so to me I won't argue against the decision. Bigger issues are at hand than a suspension hearing for the Sens. |

Agreed. I think it could have been only one game, but I'm not upset or surprised that it's two. Weird diversity of saltiness in here... I have no idea where it's all coming from.
Senators are deeply mediocre, and while we will obviously miss seeing Stone out there for a couple of games, maybe it'll give one or two of our depth guys a chance to step up and actually produce in the meantime... |

So how does this absolve Zetterberg for his hit on pageau? The league discipline in the NHL blows, no surprise here as another Senators gets suspended for practically the same play a detroit player is involved with one day prior (no penalty OR suspension)
Seems teams like detroit & montreal can get away with anything when it comes to playing ottawa. - karlsson
Its impossible to be surprised by decisions made by the Player Safety Department anymore, the guys below would likely make more sensible and consistent decisions..
You can't satisfy every fanbase all of the time, but the NHL is by far the worst league in this regard.
The last thing you want to do is feed the Hab trolls that are in here for some unknown reason, at least they'll likely head over to the Winnipeg blog soon and call for Bfuglyien to get a bunch of games for a perfectly clean hit.. |

Franzen isn't even playing and both him and Ericsson are cream puffs when it comes to physical play. I don't even think either have had a questionable play that had to be reviewed by the league for a possible suspension.
You obviously don't know much about anything else other than the Sens and I don't come on here enough to know if you even know that much about the Sens. |

There's a reason; he's obviously deeply saddened by the questionable gene pool he was born into.
As for league discipline, is there another league that takes recently employed players and allows them to make league-wide decisions? Ridiculous.

It IS a joke.
I love that they even have one guy that isn't even retired from his NHL playing career days. |
