I'll pass on Stamkos. What we'd have to give up in a trade isn't worth it and I'm not handcuffing the team with the ridiculous contract he would demand in FA. It's not worth it for this team, IMO.

I doubt we trade for him, unless price is low on deadline day (no way it could be THAT low), so I guess I am thinking FA.

How many teams can take on his $11m salary and have a decent year next year and a bright future? I dont think he plays well against the tough Western conference, so my bet is he stays in the east. Not many teams could make it work. Even TB is going to have a tough time getting him locked up.

In general, we have a lot of depth on the team, so putting a guy like Reinhart on the 4th line isn't exactly the same as it was in years past when the rest of the line were practically boat anchors out there. I just think overall, Folingo is better suited for that role.

I get not moving Deslauriers down for the game yesterday because he's had good chemistry with ROR, but I don't think Foligno has done all that much to warrant keeping a top 9 role over Reinhart.

If he cannot get a new contract in TB, no way he signs with "new" team right away (if traded before deadline). He would rather control his own fate as most teams would want him.

steep price for sure, but id have a hard time saying no to any deal involving stamkos that didn't involve eichel (unless it was outrageous like 8 roster players for one or something along those lines)

A good D prospect is my hope for the draft. I'd love one in Free Agency but not sure who will be out there. Hard to find top 2 or even real top 4 quality D outside of the draft.
